Last thread i found here is 2 years ago - so what's your actual setup? here's mine: Preamp: Ei - ECC83 OD-Section: JJ - ECC83S PI: EH - 12AX7 (Dumbleator: EH - 12AX7) Found these 2 guides - help choosing diffe...

Re: D-Lite Convertible EL84/6V6 with integr. Dumbleator
I have a Mesa Blue Angel that has both 6V6 and EL84 tubes; it uses a rotary switch to switch the cathodes on or off. Problem is the 6V6's have a higher drive requirement; you really can't hear them in the mix. Dual PI's with a blend control seems like a better idea I've never intended to use EL84's...

Re: VISO Alternative
That looks pretty good George. Do you know the name of the library files for the tube electronics? I looked in the library section and it's a bit overwhelming at how many files there are there. Thanks hi structo! if you can't connect to the english site, try the german one: http://www.cadsoft.de an...

Re: Can you "match tubes" by checking the Cathode curr
Yes you can. Insert a measure-resistor with 1 Ohm/1% between cathode and ground (at fixed bias - stages) or between cathode and common cathode-resistor (at selfbias - stages). Then measure with a voltmeter across the measure-resistor. The ,measured value in mV corresponds to the current in mA. For e...

Re: Will the real presence circuit please stand up!
each one of the above circuits works, but which one you choose depends on the OT you use, the speaker you use and finally what your ears love the most. I would suggest, choose the version with the 390R/1uF combination at the 4 Ohm tap of the OT as suggested and then using a pot with for example 10k ...

Re: D-Lite Convertible EL84/6V6 with integr. Dumbleator
Very clever! :D And nice build. Have you heard of the new Egnater Rebel 20 amp? It has EL84 and 6V6 but has a blend control that you can rotate to one or the other or a combination of both. I wonder how that would be implemented? http://www.egnateramps.com/Rebel20.html Hi Tom! Thanks for the flower...
