Does that come predrilled, or did you drill it yourself? I would be interested if we could get a run of CE-quality SSS chassis made (powder coated, silkscreened, etc).

Re: D'lator NFB LTSPice simulations: true or artifact??

What do think about the theoretical stuff? Am I right that the signal attenuation by the NFB loop depends on the output impedance of the previous stage? Yes, you are right. I believe you could model this triode stage as an inverting op amp with feedback. In this case, the voltage gain would be the ...

Re: Bluesmaster pre with non-hrm overdrive

Wow, that sounds pretty good. I can't wait to finally get started on my BM. Hopefully it'll happen over Christmas break. I may have to try a non HRM overdrive on mine also.

I was wondering how those boards look in a completed amp. Nice job!

Re: HAD on tubes vs solid state

That's cool Greg. When I was 21 they were trying to hammer solid state and transistors into our heads. Don't get me wrong, there are a ton neat things that wouldn't be possible with out the chip circuits but for simple analog amplification, tubes it is. :D ...and they still are trying to hammer tha...

Re: Where did Brandon go? Funkaliciousgroove?

I don't think Brandon worries about Ceriatone. His products are in another league. Ceriatone fits in a certain price point and Brandon is in another. It's not that he worries about competition from Ceriatone, he's probably bothered by the fact that they are profiting from work he did and shared wit...

Re: Tube instead of FET?

I haven't tried it, but one idea I've had was to do a Tube Driver circuit in front of the amp, which I guess could replace the FET circuit. Only problem is all of the additional knobs...

Here's the schem:

Re: Tip Jack 100w

My guess would be that he ran out of 1 ohm resistors so he used 2 ohms. You don't even need a resistor there unless you are using the test points.

Re: Tip Jack 100w

You should still use a 1 ohm resistor there, from the cathode of each power tube to ground. This value just simplifies the math used to figure out cathode current. You use the tip jacks to measure the voltage across the 1 ohm resistor. V = I * R Therefore, I = V / R So, if R is a 1 ohm resistor, the...

It's a nice clip. I like the song idea and the sound you're getting out of the amp.
