Re: Rusty Bassman
Hi Jeremy
the rust is not a big problem, just strip the hole chassi and just taket to company that do the same finish that was original (don't know what is call l English)
They take care of the rost (they dip it in saltpeter) and give a original finish.
Good look !

Re: Silver Mica treble cap problems.
Yes SM are very secretive, to heat or dropping .
Recoil a AC30 many year ago , that was fine when back plat was gone, but not when is was back on, do to heat.

Re: Marshall 2205 Extra Gain
I good friend of mine loves the boost overdrive channel on his 2205 He runs the gain on full but would like a little more overdrive. Looking at the schematic it uses a diode bridge for the clipping so not just a case of changing the gain on that stage. Anyone here had any experience getting any mor...

Re: questions on boost circuit
i have followed almost any YT video by Dan Boul of 65amps,its clear to me that he collected lots of infos around on forums, techs, personal vintage amps. But in the end, without formal knowledge on electronics, its just a lot of popular beliefs, and his mantra is that whatever he puts in his amps its th...

Re: Jim kelly single channel layout ?
Hi Tom Been wondering about the Kelley non reverb models. Can you remember if there were any major differences in the preamp compared to the reverb models? Did it have two or three preamp valves? Wondered if it still had four stages before the cathodyne inverter or only three. Be interesting to see...

Re: [Question] Blackface Middle pot and Reverb mod
Thanks a lot for the replies. What is the most efficient solution for the middle pot? Adding it to the back? Like I sad before : is much better to use the low input for that. 1.You mean using input 2? I thought there would be no physical space to fit a knob there. Unless if one adds a much smaller ...

Or just add a 25k trim pot on the inside, and adjust it to your liking. Personally I very seldom adjust my mid after I found...

Re: [Question] Blackface Middle pot and Reverb mod
No, is much better to use the low input for that. But if u like to go down that road, then change the volyme pot to a dual 1M = 2X1M Well the reverb use a 100KL pot and that is why the pot is so sensitive, If u change the pot to a 100KA instead u will get the reverb at 4 what u now have on 2. And if...

Re: Jim Kelly Build
Your updated schematic looks great ! The only error I see is that C23 should be 30uF. Thanks oj... I edited and reposted. Nice job dorrisant ! You know that is the only complete schematic ever for a Jim kelly :) If you like the voltages for the old and new JK, let me know. Also Jim did increase the...
