I just built a single ended amp for my nephew based on the dearmond R5 using 6005 and the edcor open frame 5K:16 15 watt OPT. $22 for the OPT and it sounds really really good. Has anyone tried putting a variable capacitor from an AM radio in place of their bright switch circuit? I believe they commonly cover 20-365pF. May at least be a way to determine what value caps to put in permanantly for a particular amp.

Hi everybody, I'm thinking of building a trainwreck style amp and I'm wondering which direction to go.
