I know this is a old thread but I found and purchased an offset wrench for Fender Amps.
www.tonecraftaudio.com in La Jolla CA. $15.50 w/shipping in U.S.
Hope this helps.

Re: ODS #221 for sale
I have seen this on Reverb for $175k at Play It Again Music in Dayton Ohio. Be careful. This was a retail store owned by Allan Mance whose dealings have been questionable. If it is a genuine Dumble, I know of only one in Dayton and that belongs to Ira Stanley of Dixie Peach. This may be that amp. th...

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
At times I have considered using a 5AU4 but have not found the proper power transformer for the HT or sufficient filament current. I would think you could have one built along the lines of 300-0-300 @ 450mA/6.3VCT @ 6A/5V @ 5A. This would be sufficient to run 4- 5881 tubes and up to 6- 12A_7 tubes. ...

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
Bear in mind that it's more expensive to make a transformer with a lower winding resistance than 'normal'; thicker wire requires more copper and larger windows in the laminations are required to accommodate the thicker wire, which requires larger laminations. And the reservoir cap value in the AC30...

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
Thanks to all for the feedback.
The position of the standby switch makes good sense.
60 watt output seems more reasonable.
Once again, thank you for the information.

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
Thanks everyone for all the information. Perhaps I have not been clear about my concerns regarding the 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier. If I am correct, The 5f8 and 5f8a Twin Amp was Leo Fender's first attempt at making a 4-6L6 amp. The urban legend has it that this is an 80 watt amp. The 5f6 and 5f6a Bassman A...

Does anyone think 250mA is sufficient to run a quartet of 6L6GC's?

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
Perhaps I should clarify the subject a bit more. My concern was mostly the power transformer and rectifiers ability to supply sufficient current to the power tubes. Generally speaking I bias my amps at 70% plate dissipation. In my 5f6-a Bassman the power transformer has a 200mA current capacity and ...

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
It appears to be possible to use the 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier if you are using 5881 tubes. The quiescent operating point(@ 70% plate dissipation calculates @ 41.28mA per tube at a plate voltage of 390 volts For four tubes it is 165.13mA 6L6GC's calculate @ 215.38mA for four tubes. This is right at the ed...

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
Thank you, Martin.
I am considering building a 5f8-a circuit with a 5V3/5AU4 rectifier though I believe I will need a custom made power transformer to supply the necessary current requirements.

Re: Fender Tweed Twin Reissue JB Edition
I have a curious question. What rectifier tube is being used.
If it is a GZ-34, how can it supply enough current to adequately power a quartet of 6l6GC's.

Robben Ford at 20thCentury Theatre Wed 6/7/17
Went to see Robben Ford Wednesday evening. Outstanding show.
Played as a trio.
Used what appeared to be a 52 Les Paul with the trapeze bridge and the Blonde ODS.
A master of tone and dynamics.

Re: Twin Tweed 5F8-A with Reverb and Tremolo
I have successfully put a passive patch point between the wiper of the treble pot and the entrance to the phase inverter/driver using a Switchcraft 14b jack and TRS Y cord plugged into a tube reverb.
Would probably also work with the ReVibe.
