Ken's column
I found this site http://www.ultimateguitargear.com/kens_column.htm while looking for something else. I thought it would be of interest to you guys. I do not remember if it was mentionned here before so pardon me if it is the case.

Re: Fast / Gradual Mode
Rob, I went a different direction with the Komet clone I built. Instead of the split-load, I replaced the voltage divider in front of V3 with a 500K pot, which gives the effect of a continously variable 'fast/slow' switch, and also gives the possibility of somewhat more gain. I replaced the 100k po...

Re: First Express clone ready :o)
Really I have to figure a way to get the overdrive sounds more reasonable levels. As I said I tried the simple MV but was not happy with that (hope I got it right). Also I was thinking to build some kind of simple attenuator. Anyone got a favourite ? schem ? Thanks, I use a MiniMass with my Express...

Nice work Mat!
I think your V2 voltages are fine. The Kelly90 schematic shows 261V and 2.9V

Re: Newbie Question
Hi Ben,
you could read the P1 Theory Document on the AX84 site http://ax84.com/index.php?pg=projects&project_id=p1
Also the Jack Darr Book http://www.pacificrecone.com/JackDarrBook.html
Lots of articles on tubes here http://www.radau5.ch/basics_1.html
And you can ask questions here!

You can get most of these from Mouser:
Electroswitch 3 position rotary switch, 690-C5P0304N-A
Johnson Meter Tip Jack Black, 530-105-0803-1
Johnson Meter Tip Jack Red, 530-105-0802-1
Alpha pots, either linear or audio

Re: Voltage clarification
The voltage across the plate resistor is B+ minus the plate voltage. So if your B+ is at 275V and you have 200V for your plate voltage, 75V is left across the plate resistor.
These values will change as the signal is applied.

Re: 25w resistor
We discussed the dissipation of this resistor in a previous thread http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=405&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc I have never stuck my finger on the resistor but someone said in that thread that the 25W runs pretty cool. I would keep it at a reasonnable distance fro...

Re: Komet Clone Finished!!! Pics!
The faceplates were made by an engraver with back fill letters. I can't mention who online...we want to avoid "baseless" cease and desist letters! In fact, everybody involved on this project were "local" unknowns for that reason. I have a few extras if you need some. Allynmey Thanks, Allyn. This is...

Re: The UniWreck Lives!!!
2. My power indicator is a 120V lamp (salvaged from the Univox I started with). While connected to the current limiter, the lamp dims when I play, and glows normally when I don't. Whats up with that? When I am not connected to the current limiter, the power indicater doesn't dim when I play. It is ...
