Re: Question about reverb problem.

Exactly same layout. Exactly same problem. I have changed every component but the reverb pan or transformer or the tube socket. I have tried few fresh tubes and new cabels without help. Nowdays the reverb hardly works at all. I will try the Stevem's suggestion asap. I have been thinking of swapping ...

Re: Effect Pedal building

Tried the Simble and Sky Blue OD (side by side with my BSIAB2) with couple of Mad Professor amps. Simble has nice organic sound, but the low end is too fuzzy for my taste. Sky Blue OD was very balanced but little too sterile imo. Great pedals both no questions about it. Very different pedals all thr...

My Zendrive OD doesn't get as close as the Simble.
I have to go and try the Simble..

Re: New EF86 Special build

I dont know how the increased filtering could damage the amp. Here are much more knowlidgeable builders here. I hope someone of them will have answer for your question. I tried several cap values in power section on my build and listened what sounded and more likely felt best while playing. Nowdays ...

Re: New EF86 Special build

That amp looks stunning! Great job. I still have quite a lot of hum on my build. Have to find time to troubleshoot it some day.

Would also like to hear the amp very much. What Jensen model is that speaker ?

Re: EL84hrm

Has anyone actually built the duet version of the 86 Special? Are there photos? Hi there, I havent played my build for a while. I converted the little brother back to dumble style overdrive channel. The bigger 2 EL84 version sounds good but is different from d-style sound. With more gain it closes ...

Re: Meeting in Helsinki!

To me it was also first time to meet a net-friend, what a wonderful thing. What a very inspirational meeting it was. Roger was a really nice guy and he seems to know a lots more of the D-circuits than I do. Also very interesting chat about pickups and pickup winding. Might order new set for my start...

That is just what I ment, V2=stages 3 & 4 8)

Cool, waiting for the clip !

Re: SE EL84 Mini ODS PTP

Nice looking and sounding build. Congrats! I got very good results with a tube reverb unit on the passive loop. I think it will sound eaven better with a dumbleator I'm building right now.
If You want to smoothen the drive maybe a 390p or 470p snubbers from plate to cathode on V2 might do the job.

Re: bias-varying tremolo on a stand alone unit ?

Have you got a schematic you're working to so far? Not yet. Actually I often draw only a layout by hand and build from there. I was thinking Wallbangers suggestion ( http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/supro_s6616.pdf ) of the Supro tremolo into dlator into Heistils 2 tube reverb. Would the Supro trem tube t...

Re: bias-varying tremolo on a stand alone unit ?

Back to the build (standalone loop buffer/tremolo/reverb). I'm little confused how to set the order of the 3 circuits (2 tube reverb, 1 tube tremolo and dumbleator). What I would like to achieve is to have opportunity to bypass every 3 circuits. Should the reverb and tremolo be before or after the a...
