Re: Harvard Question
The Fender model 5f10 that uses a 6at6 as a first gain stage does not have a input coupling cap from the input jack to the first gain stage, so what is the value of the as built cap that you jumped with that small .00056 cap? Does the humbucker sound crappy at any volume output level set from the g...

Harvard Question
Hi guys, I have a harvard build (built by the late David Root) using 7 pin tubes (6At6 front end 6AV6 driver and phase inverter and 6AQ5 output tubes). He wanted to attempt a build with all 7 pin tubes. I added a small .0056 cap piggybacked onto the input coupling stage to add a little warmth and ba...

Transformer question
Output transformer question here guys. I have an Allan Old Flame Super Reverb clone with Thordason Meissner opt. Only one secondary is connected which is green. The other two secondary colors are green with a yellow stripe and white. Anyone here know the impedance of these taps?
Thanks

Amp question
I picked up a military projector amp. Aside from changing input to 1m any ideas on circuit changes to make more guitar friendly?

Re: Mesa Eye Candy
Very cool. It has the wood finish too. Randal mentioned in an interview how he hated applying Tolex and so he would do the wood finish. Cheers Guy I read the first four builds by Randall were for Neil Young in hardwood cabs...maybe this is one of them??? Has the Santana tone little less gain but de...

Mesa Eye Candy
Picked up this circa 71’ Mesa MKI prototype 112 awhile back. Thought I would share a few pics. Looks like a few resisters were replaced, coupling cap (which I replace with vintage Mallory). Sticker has Randall Smith’s signature and date 1973 but Mesa indicates it’s an earlier amp that most likely wa...

Soldano Question
Hi guys.
Picked up a soldano hot rod 50 with a mod on front end switch w/ 22mf to a ceramic. Basically scoops mid range. Any thoughts on whether these would soak up gain or be a soldano type mod from SLO series???

Re: Sluckey's Dual Marshall
I have one of these amps build by the late David Root. Footswitch with relay for the two channels and a dynacomp compressor on footswitch too. He also added a bright switch and a cap on a switch to add bite. Sounds great!
