Re: Vox AC15C1 Choke Mod

You can put a resistor in series with the choke to keep the voltages where they are ...

Increasing the voltages in the amp due to replacing a dropping resistor with a choke will make the amp slightly brighter and cleaner

The OP said a Z Wreck ... which I agree is an amazing amp!!!! of course 'someone' posted about a one-off Wreck clone they had done ... I replied that "I didn't think that was...

Re: 12AX7 vs 6n2p-EV

I used the 6N2P-EV tubes in my 10 watt Wreck like amp ... They work fine ...

Overall quality does depend on when they were manufactured

Re: Seeking suggestions to modify Ceriatone HRM Bluesmaster 50

The 68k on the mid ground lug is for the PAB level the PAB relay disconnects the mid pot from ground for the "preamp boost" ... the 68k resistor is there to set the level of the boost ... I modeled the tone stack in Duncan's tone stack calculator ... the mid dip is at a higher frequency than a fende...

Re: 5E3 Big (6l6's)

One more quickie please fellas . Would this OT be sufficient ? This power transformer was specified for the PP-36 amp kit, but would suit other amplifiers requiring 340V or so on the power valve plates. With a 275-0-275V 200mA high voltage winding, There's a 5V rectifier winding for GZ34/etc and pl...

Re: 20w pp build big problem(s)

Are the 12AX7 cathodes still at almost the same voltage as the plates?

If so measure the resistance from pin 3 to ground NOT to the other side of the resistor ... etc
