18 watt Marshall tube amp

I used to build amps until I went blind. Is anyone interested in building an 18 watt lite IIb or a minimalist amp? Let's talk further.

Who are you guys using for amp chassis?

I have been out of building for about 3 years. I am going to try to build an Express inspired 10 watt amp. I need a 16" X 8" chassis with an IEC punch in it. If I could get the tube holes and control holes that will help me greatly as my eyesight is still pretty weak. Who are you guys getting your c...

Re: Radio Shack Apocalypse Sale - 80-90% off

I went by two of them on the far Southside of Chicago today. One was shut down already, damn , missed it! The other one isn't going away. Struck out! Will try again Thursday.

Re: Radio Shack Bankruptcy

That was one of the things that hurt the most was when they started hiring folks who had no clue what Radio Shack was. In the last 25 years or so I had to know what I was looking for and had to know where in the store to find it. They look at you with that"deer in the headlights look" like you are s...

Re: Radio Shack Bankruptcy

RIP...I still go there occasionally when in the middle of a project. Although they have relegated all of our parts to that huge metal bin. I'd love to buy one of those when they go out. I remember taking the bus as a kid to Olson's and RS for various parts and pieces. At one time Olson's also carrie...

Re: Today......

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I don't drive very much any more because of my eyesight but I have stories I could tell from 40 years of driving. I have one of those Teles being built for me as we speak. Only it's the one with the metal control plate. Can't wait...only wish I could really play...

Hey Richie,
I still can not see that well, but what I can see of your gut shots are absolutely beautiful! Your audio clips were great also.

I don't know much about the hotels. I have never stayed in one downtown! All I can suggest is checking the Net.

Re: Suggestions for a few days in Chicago (and hinterland)

If you like live Blues look up the Kingston Mines and Blues on Halsted. They are across the street from each other on 2546 North Halsted Chicago IL. Look on their calendar to see who will be here then. You may run into all sorts of famous people there.
