Re: 5 watt trainwreck for home
I'll try to post some pics when I have time. Looks like Hammond transformers.

Re: 5 watt trainwreck for home
I have an S2 Micro amp that sounds great. 2 -EL91s push/pull for 5 watts and power scaling to get it to bedroom levels.
Just another option for a cool build.

Re: 6AK6 push-pull output transformers
Here's another S2 Mico Amp. This one is the M4 which is the SLO 100 copy. This particular amp has the upgraded Mercury transformers. You can see the 4,8,16 ohm selector on the rear. Re: 6AK6 push-pull output transformers
I really really like these amps. The M1 is a blackface style amp that is a great pedal platform. I've heard the 6AK6 described as sounding like a small 6L6 and I think that is spot on. While it doesn't have the girth of a 6L6 for clean tones, it does sound surprisingly big and full. Blasting it with...

Re: 6AK6 push-pull output transformers
Okay here are some shots. Sorry for the poor picture quality. I couldn't see any #'s on the transformers, so hopefully someone here will recognize what they are. Re: 6AK6 push-pull output transformers
Will do - although it might be a day or two before I have the time. I have two of them - 1 is the M1 blackface style with the 2 X 6AK6 tubes, and the other is the M3 Wreck style with 2 X EL91.
From the outside they appear to be the same transformer set.

Re: 6AK6 push-pull output transformers
Hello,
1st post. I have an S2 Micro amp w/6ak. I don't think the transformer is a Mercury. I can open it up and take a few gutshots if you want.
