Re: Ampeg Gemini 2
i pulled all the tubes and disconnected the ht and heater secondaries of the PT from the rest of the circuit. it still pops the fuse immediately after you throw the switch. Is that a fried PT for sure?

Ampeg Gemini 2
Hello everyone. Hope the New Year finds you all well. I have one of these Ampeg Gemini 2 that is blowing fuses violently. It is at a friends shop and he is pulling his hair out. He has replaced the original can cap but it did not help. I am going to look at it tomorrow to see if I can find anything....

Re: Rockstah--RIP
That is no doubt when you say symptoms of heart disease are easy to ignore. I had a 90+ % blockage in one of the main arteries and had little for symptoms. Small amount of tightness in the neck, a little fatigue and numb fingers if I was pushing it too hard were the only real indicators. I got lucky...

Re: Mistake
I think would start by disconnecting the heater taps from the circuit and powering up the amp and checking to see if you have approx. 6.3VAC. at the PT. If the PT is throwing the proper voltage then look for a short in the heater circuit. You might try changing the power tubes for known good ones if...

Re: Resistor Question
For quickly finding the value of 2 paralleled resistors of different values I like to use R1*R2/R1+R2

Re: P3 amplifiers?
Friend of mine just sent me link. Was kind of embarrassed to say I'd never heard of 'em. They appear to have a pretty full line of products. Looks like they're out of Nashville. Anybody know anything about them? http://p3amplifiers.com/ Never heard of them either. Sure are pricey for a 50 watt amp....

Re: Ampeg GVT15 - What circuit is that?
Take a look at the SVT pre amp http://www.el34world.com/charts/Schemat ... p_RevB.pdf
Keep in mind it is a bass amp, but it also has a stand alone mid control. Uses a coil with several different taps as part of the mid control.

Re: The Sims Are Coming! The Sims Are Coming!
I think that pretty well sums it up. The words "feel" and "soul" seem to keep coming up. I guess it's not so much a sound as it is the feeling that you get when you are playing through a good ole tube amp. I hope you are wrong Jana when you say people will eventually forget tube amps for a sim. I th...

Re: 59 Bassman LTD
Thanks for the quick answers - Just to clarify the bass cap is a .1uF and I am going to change that cap to 0.022uF as per "original". I guess I was asking what the slope resistor at 100k to a 56k or lower change would do? (As the "original" value is 56k) (Also the PI cap is 0.022uF which is the sam...

Re: 59 Bassman LTD
Hi I have one of these and really enjoy it with single coil pup's but find it a little too "bassy" with HB's. I have read a bit about the differences between the 59's tone stack values and the original values and I am considering making this change. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if t...

Is that a Squier 51 she's playing? If so, I have a black one. I had no idea she was British. :D It is a Squier 51, this was on Joanne's facebook page: I've been recieving a few emails of late regarding the "Squire" I play. It is a Squire 51. It's Fender's attempt at a tele/strat hybrid & they are s...

I'm bald but what hair I have left, it stood up! She is a powerful player, so much emotion in her playing and singing. I would love to hear her demo a wreck, I think she could really make it scream for mercy. I listened to the one track right before bed time and I just couldn't get the riffs out of...
