Oddly, unlike above, this one was intended as a spoof.

Re: Been Asked Before, Repeatedly!
Yep, DIYLC tells you on it's website that "IMPORTANT: in order for the app to work you must enable 3rd party apps on your mac. If you do not, the app will be reported as damaged." but, of course it doesn't tell us what "3rd party apps" these are! DIYLC is the 3rd Party App. "Enabling third-party ap...

Re: Well, I Got My First Oscilloscope?
For the beginner, books like this usually have several pages on how to use an oscilloscope, They'll cover the horizontal (Volt/Div) and the vertical (Time/Div), Triggering, AC and DC settings, etc. and can get you started with basic audio troubleshooting.... http://www.amazon.com/How-Diagnose-Fix-Ev...

Re: JTM45 Impedance
Well, that's showmanship. The big touring shows are all spectacle. People want to see Angus and Keef and others strutting around the stage putting on a show and not tethered to a pedal-board. They have reliable pros that make sure the show sounds exactly the same every night, regardless of venue. Ev...

Re: JTM45 Impedance
Hmm...I always thought Angus used a Super Lead Plexi, and that Malcolm (from time to time) would use the 45... The "company line" is ... ...Malcolm used a JMP Superbass/1992 exclusively for decades and added a JTM45/100 starting with Ballbreaker. ...Angus used mostly JMP's (1987's so they could be ...

Re: JTM45 Impedance
On the Black Ice Album. Then again thinking about it that sounds like he has a big bright cap and has the volume down low. There has always been question marks when it comes to what amps ACDC use. In interviews they said they never used Master Volume amps, however in the early days thats what they ...

Which tracks?Littlewyan wrote: You know I wonder if Angus Young's JTM45 uses 6.6K as its very different sounding to other JTM45s that I've heard. Very clear and punchy.
The AC/DC-JTM45 connection is always over-blown.

Re: JTM45 Impedance
the RS OT had taps for 6k6, 8k and 9k. Marshall are generally believed to have used 6k6 and 8k I've also read is that Marshall would wire up for 8K but wire but halve the secondary wiring up the combos to get a 4K primary. But it's really hard to tell the speculation from actual first-hand knowledg...

Re: JTM45 Impedance
We have two different "eras" here. The earlier offset and split-front JTM45's ('62 thru ~'64) used the Radio Spares output transformers. These were typically wired for 6.6K or even 4K (some combos) impedance. These amps have more output and more clean headroom thanks to the better match of the prima...

Re: Source for JCM 800 style chassis
Watts sells the wide JCM style chassis, but it's set up for 50W. Since it's a stand-up transformer, I expect you can simply punch for two more tubes and drill new transformer holes if needed. http://turretboards.com/guitar_amplifier_parts_marshall_jcm800.html As for faceplates, don't know of a source.

Re: who makes a correct tweed harvard chassis?
Here is the Weber 5F2 chassis which is very different from the one above. The Lauren is a different style 5F2. I guess they have changed, The one I got from Weber earlier in the year and had machined was just like the one TJ used. TM There is little about that PDF that indicates any change without ...

Re: Check this Flocking stuff out!
To do flocking right, you have to have a good electro-static setup. You need to get the fibers standing on end while applying. It ain't easy to do it right or cheap. And I couldn't imagine ever looking good on anything but a puppet. Used to have to flock things for stop-motion animation projects...b...

Re: Problem with deluxe reverb clone
The Hoffman layout uses 1K and 4.7K dropping resistors. Go with the original Fender AB763 values of 10K and 10K That would do it. The "large" BF reverb combos...Pro, Super, Twin, etc. all had the 1K/4.7K resistors. The "small" Fender combos, Deluxe and Vibrolux had the 10K/10K resistors. It makes a...
