Re: Rectifier efficiency?

I've been considering a PT swap to get the voltages down to 440v 450v. So. I should be looking for 340v x 1.3 = 442v, if I understand this thread correctly. Do I have this about right? Anyone with experience in the 5F6-A type build? Please let me know how yours turned out. Thank You. If you uing an...

Re: questions for KT66 P-P amp

Hello everybody! First post here! Please be kind with me! :) I'm planning to build a new guitar amplifier and I'm thinking to go with KT66s. I need a clean with a lot of headroom sound! If it was me I would run a pair of KT88's with about 475-490V on the plates. I would run the the KT66 at least 45...

Re: DUMBLE Bill Of Material for #40 and 70's Layout

Glanced over it. Keep in mind that some of the resistors are the RN65 metal film variety but most are CC of CF. Also for a true clone you'll need the yellow Sprague Atom filter caps which are no longer in production. Also the production method of the 6PS orange drops has changed so you'll want the ...

Re: Wire wrapping information

Hey I was just wondering if anyone know something about the technique used in older amps and matchless to wrap and bundle tie wires together. Can anyone fill me in on if there was a name for the tie wrap method and where I can learn how to do it. I'm sure it is in some old electronic book, someplac...

Re: D Gut Pics

The link doesn't work for me :( I only get a grey screen with some inactive buttons. Any tips? Doesn't work for me either. Is it password protected or something? I was having the same problem until I tried accessing it using a different PC. I can access it via my desktop, but not my notebook. The f...

Re: Calling Gearheads

I did bracket racing when I was young. Built a 1971 vega first with a 327/auto/narrowed 9 inch ford rearend. Then a 350 went in. I should have just when straight to 427/454 and been done. It was fun but then raising a family and drag racing budget didn't work for me. I don't think an intact hatchba...

WJ, is darn near 70 and he's still out there. You know I've never been big fan of TF or FC. My fav are Pro Stock, Pro Stock Truck before it was dropped, Pro Mod and Comp Eliminator. When TF is up, I'm usually hanging around the Pro Stock guys. Also, I'm a big fan of Outlaw 10.5 and other forms of "R...

Re: First #124 base build

you might try using this place for covering material. they have about everything, snake, lizard, ostrich, crock large and small, suede, pleated, basketweave, and about every color type you could think of, some would also make great basketweave grillcloth etc.. glitter, metal looking, just have to lo...
