Re: A Collection of #124 Information (Schematics, Layout, etc.)
This may sound stupid, but I will post it anyway... I wondering if the presence is wired different than described in the schematic. If you look at the + sign on the presence cap on the picture, it points towards ground.. Could it be that the cap is actually in series with the 390ohm, and the presenc...

Re: Rectifier voltage drop
A lot of us use this: http://www.duncanamps.com/psud2/index.html Very cool and free. I ran your rectifier simulation and was only one volt off your B+ so the transformer is right on spec. The trick is getting the right load resistance in the model. Figuring 35ma per tube (at idle) plus 3ma for each...

Re: Rectifier voltage drop
I`m missing 10V at both V1 and V2. Assume that I have to lower the 22K resistor, but to what value? PI voltage seems correct. Different tubes can very by 10V or so, but I would drop it to an 18K. TM Thanks! Tested with two different sets of tubes las night. No difference. I will first try the 230v ...

Re: Rectifier voltage drop
According to amp wizard`s site, the voltage can drop to 1.2x ac input voltage.
Tried also a new card with 2 diodes and it did not help at all.

Re: Rectifier voltage drop
First off, it's not really all that low IMHO. My 124 B+1 is 440V for mains of 122VAC through a Hammond Fender Twin replacement PT. What you're seeing may be 'normal'. All transformers exhibit a voltage drop between standby and on because of the increase in loading. The amount of drop will depend on...

Rectifier voltage drop
Hi Thanks to all of you, I`m about to finish my 124 build. :-) I will post all the pictures as soon I am having proper voltages. However, there an issue with a significant voltage drop from the rectifier. Measurements: Standby: Uac=2x335V Udc=475V (from rectifier) Uripple=0V ON: Uac=2x330V Udc=425V ...

Re: NEW SPEAKER
Have anyone tested the Jensen Jet Tornado?
This speaker was released early 2009 (?) and should be an improvement of the neo series.

Re: NEW SPEAKER
What about the Jet Tornado..?
Seem similar to the EVM12-L, looking (only) at the frequency responce..
I`m attempted to try this due to some problems with my back.

I can certainly see HAD pursuing any purveyors of fake Dumble amps, as I would for any business owner doing the same. What's totally wacky to me is his business model--even if you did have the cash, how the heck is a prospective customer s'posed to reach the dude? Send a message with a Ouija Board?...
