Re: buying NOS tubes
I've bought tubes from Terry Kilgore and from Tina on ebay (248tina40). I got my Saratovs, some Amperex and Valvo from Terry, and my Sylvania EL34s from Tina. I have some Ei, Raytheon black plates, and Brimar 12AX7s also; don't remember where those came from. I also have a couple of Telefunkens. My ...

Re: New Photo: Pocket Rocket
Those photos bring tears to my eyes!(j/k). One of the reasons for doing HPDEs is to learn to drive fast and safe ON THE TRACK. I don't believe in street racing. Here are a few photos from last weekend at Homestead Miami (215 is my son's birthday) [img:1080:720]http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/774/...

Re: New Photo: Pocket Rocket
If you like the WRX you will love the Volvo V60R or V70R. Do you have any audio clips of the amp? No clips until my son comes down from college in December, he has all the recording equipment. I'm sure the Volvo is really nice; those Rs are fast, but it's also 10K-12K more than I paid for mine out ...

Re: New Photo: Pocket Rocket
Wow! That's a beautiful rig! Plus, I'm sure it SOUNDS awesome as well. What more could you want? BTW, is that a '03 WRX wagon in your avatar? Very nice! The wheels add a nice STI-ish touch. Fun, aren't they!? I drive an '04 wagon and I wouldn't trade it for anything (under 50k)...car-wise at least....

New Photo: Pocket Rocket
rj had built this Pocket Rocket a while back for me. I recently acquired a 30 watt Scumback G12H-55 online so I ordered a 1X12 Mojotone open back cab in the same purple elephant as the amp. I had the grill done in large checkerboard. the cab arrived this afternoon so I hooked everything up and tried...

Recommendation for 1x12 cab
I was able to obtain 2 speakers and wanted to get some cabs for them
The first is a Scumback H55 30w 8ohm which I want to give to Michael for his Pocket Rocket.
The second is a Fane Medusa 150, also 8ohm.
Any recommendations for cabs: builders, size, type, open/closed/convertible?

One of my cabs, a Mojo Bluesbreaker (my favorite) has a Celestion Gold and a Scumbag G12H-75. Amazing tones, use it with Diana.

Re: my purple people eater
...BTW, I was playing through a Bogner 412 Uberkab without any problem; seems to have enough power. Tomorrow, I'm going to try it through its eventual partner, Michael's Avatar 212 with a Weber Silver Bell and Weber Blue Dog, both alnico. mcl... keep in mind that the output transformer is rated at ...

my purple people eater
Here is the Pocket Rocket that rj built for my son Michael, who won't see it until he comes down from college. I played this for a while and it screams for a little mother! Nice distortion, excellent cleans and I can carry it with 2 fingers (though I won't!). I asked rj for something different, so I...

Re: High Gain Rocket
rj, that extra gain stage really hit the spot; something Michael would love as his music usually is on the dirty rather than the clean side of town.
