Re: Grab And Go S.S.S.

nice build! I love the size. I've been building slightly smaller sized versions of larger amps as well. Which circuit did you build? though I've built many ODS circuits and JM variants, I'm still wrapping my head around the SSS versions.

Re: Show me your cool wood cabs

Thanks, it’s become a signature thing since that head cab. I like doing that on my amps

Re: RN65s

I just had a similar issue. One can only hope that this is a supply chain issue and will improve with time. Hard to tell if supplies will ever recover tho.

really, really beautiful work. I did something similar with 6v6 tubes and I'm still fiddling with it for the best result. Gotta love a straight forward clean amp!

Re: Looked like classictone will be re-branded "USA Classic" (edit: Does not seem to be the case)

Triode reports that they are working with another Chicago transformer manufacturer to recreate some of the Classictone line to the same specs, materials and paper wound methods.

Re: Looks like classictone will be re-branded "USA Classic"

yes it might, but the main person from Mag Comp clearly and unequivacally said that the "USA Classic" was a surprise to him and that they have nothing to do with it. One would have to guess that somebody is having units built to their specs, which is unfortunate.

Re: Looks like classictone will be re-branded "USA Classic"

This is incorrect. I corresponded with the head of Magnetic Components this morning. There is absolutely no relation. It appears to be an endeavor by Triode, the name similarity is unfortunate but there is no connection to Magnetic Components.

Re: Classic Tone/Magnetic Components Closing?

follow up: I have spoken with the key people at Magnetic Components, they are not connected in any way with "USA Classic" or the transformers mentioned on the Triode site.

Re: Classic Tone/Magnetic Components Closing?

I saw this morning that the Triode page says USA classic is coming soon. Anybody know what’s up?

most 100w D style amps would use Twin Reverb iron. That would be my choice for 4 - 6L6, the 290FX typically

Re: DIYLC Building Blocks

I'd love to get some building blocks and pieces for DIYLC. I've grabbed some OD and other files from Hoffman. I'm slowly building up my skills on the program, but it's way better than what I was using before.

thanks for sharing! I'm working on learning Kicad, I got stuck on doing holes for eyelets / solder points for the Dumble relay boards. I need to put in some time and this will be a great help!
