Re: ODS (Ceriatone) Cleans

Hi Adrian,

Where are you in the UK? If you've got mates that worked at Matamp then you might be up north. I'm in Oswaldtwistle, Lancs, and I have a tweaked Overtone and a few Fuchs amps. I'd be happy to chat and / or let you play my amps.

Cheers,
Rob.

Re: How many Dumbles does John Mayer have?

I heard he had either over 30 Dumbles, or over 50, can't remember exactly, but it was one of those numbers.

Re: Master Volume, to cap or not to cap ?

Anywhere from 10pf to 47pf depending on taste, volume levels, and whether you use the loop. Try a 33pf or 47pf and then use a cable in the loop. It simultaneously smooths and then brightens. Many Dumbles have up to a 47pf there. Especially if the amp is used with a Dumbleator. Hi Scott, Thanks for ...

Master Volume, to cap or not to cap ?

Hi Chaps, I've been experimenting with the "jzucker mods" to the Ceriatone Overtone which I think were developed with a lot of input from you guys here. Anyway, the overall tone of the amp has improved dramatically, but I do think the amp lacks high end now and I can't help thinking that the cap (15...

Master volume Brightness cap, to cap or not to cap?

Hi Guys, I finally got around to tweaking the Overtone Special last week. I had already swapped in the 220k before the 100k OD trimmer and I had swapped the OD Level pot to 100k Linear from the 250k which was stock. These changes improved the amp a great deal in OD mode. Last week I went through all...

Re: Jammed with Jerry Donahue!

Thanks guys, it really is a surprise to me. I was a "pro" player in my early twenties but kind of gave it up when family came along and got myself a regular nine to five. My bass player and drummer ARE pro players, it's what they do for a living, and as a result I have to fit in around their other c...

Jammed with Jerry Donahue!

Hi Chaps, My bass player Scott knows Jerry Donahue quite well (Studio Engineer)and my band and i went along to a local jam last night knowing that Jerry would be there. Jerry asked us to back him on some tunes, so we got up twice in the evening the play with him. Really nice chap and a great player....

Re: Dumble Pictures Archive update

Hi Brandon,

Thanks for the pics, they have now been added.

If you'd like to send me more pics of the Overdrive Deluxe I will add them to the archive.

That goes for anyone else too. I would also appreciate help putting serial numbers on those listed as #unknown.

Cheers,
Rob.

Re: Has anyone used the Rodenberg Flex-Loop?

Hi Rob, I have one of the early Flexlopp examples in the 1/2 rack format. Works like a charme in my Dumble clones. No noise issues, simply a great product. PM me if you have more questions. Cheers, Dominik Hi Dominik, That's exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks. I have a chance of getting one in t...

Re: Underwhelmed by a Boogie cab

Hi Chaps,

Thanks for the suggestions. I've checked the speaker and is is an EVM12L not an S.

I'll try the beam blocker route and see if that helps.

Cheers,
Rob.

Has anyone used the Rodenberg Flex-Loop?

Hi Chaps,

Has anyone given one of these a try in the loop of an ODS clone? I'd be glad to hear your opinions.

Someone should snap up this bargain !

Hi Chaps,

I might bid myself, but without trying it first, I'm not sure how it would sound.

Re: Effects in the loop of #124

Here's what Nik had to say

"124 was weird. For the network to be in, ie working, the short is to be eliminated. But this network kills tone. I think thats why i had the short."

Maybe a bit fuzzy, without the mods, in the lower region?
Fuzzy would be a better description of how it was before. No, it's not fuzzy any more, I would say it's tight, thick, fat and articulate, I like it.
