Re: Transformer for OTS type circuit
π€£π€£π€£ oh heck, do you know I never even noticed that! Probably because I was initially looking at the pedaltone 1 which has a slightly different circuit configuration which doesn't mention the tranny, and only downloaded the pedaltone 2 one just before I posted on here. Oooh I feel such a foolπ€£ Thanks...

Re: Transformer for OTS type circuit
Well, after listening to Greg Koch demo his 'The Greg' amp I thought it sounded quite good, just added a bit of extra oomph and body. I didn't know that Hafler or Crate had done it before do you have any idea which of their amps they put it in? I'd still like to try it and complicated solid state ci...

Transformer for OTS type circuit
So I've been looking at Koch amps OTS circuit which uses half a 12ax7 as a small power amp to get a switchable poweramp style overdrive.
Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the likely specs of the transformer. I wondered if the standard fender type reverb tranny might work.
Cheers
Shane

Re: 53 5c3 circuit changes
That's had a lot of changes by the looks of it, and that does look like a bias mod.
Its more likely a 5D3 since as far as I'm aware 5C3's had octal preamp tubes.

Either an in line resistor or swap the hot and wiper connections on the pot.

Re: Bassman rebuild/hotrod for review
I have seen schematics for similar conversions, having a marshall preamp and a fender one, but for me these amps are great if you just get rid of the anode bypass caps on the existing channels( maybe keep a 500pf one on the bass channel) and convert the output stage to aa864 specs.

Re: Bassman rebuild/hotrod for review
The creamy/crunchy switch pops because youre changing the bias of the stage suddenly, not because of the cap is charging or discharging, however you implement the switch its gonna pop. Dont know why youve put the volume control on ch A before the first stage because as drawn v1.2 has no grid referen...

Oh yes I realise that but when I open it on my phone the triode curves dont show up. Maybe it's an issue with my phone
