Re: chinese Kits
Don't forget the UK import duty, which will be based on the $200 plus the shipping. Once I took a punt on two China guitar necks made to my spec and they cost $50 to ship. So I guess you are looking at $300 minimum total. After my neck order experiment, which was "interesting", I always order direct...

Re: RoHS, CE-mark and touring
I think that is a UK thing, but as I see it, the regulations do not really pin it down. Things just have to be "safe".
Can you define safe?
They have PAT testing with some stickers to make folk feel safer:

Re. JSchem:
The "undo" does not seem to function on the mac version of JSchem. So you have to make sure not to goof up!
In the end I am quicker with AutoCad on PC running XP-pro which is quarantined from the internet.

Re: Building tube amp
Personally, I would go for one of the 6L6 Fender tweed circuits, but as the OP is in Germany and was talking Fender type SE for use with a strat, I would maybe point to the Tube-Town GmbH TT66 DIY amp. This amp is designed for a Fender feel but can be tweaked to take it in a Marshall direction. Mayb...

Hey, I really like it as is. Looks great.
But the joke of usuing MXR knobs for the vibrato effects section would get up my nose.

Re: What to do with a JCM900 100W Output Tranny
If I had that many coke bottles I would go for a quad of 6V6G and double the secondary for Raa=4k4 because to me a quad always seems to be more satisfying.
On the otherhand, I would sell it. Just don't enjoy those 900s. It would easily find a new home and one could get something groovier.

Re: Why does my Rocket sound the way it does? (long post)
my two € cents: The Rocket seems to me to be an extremely clear and articulate circuit. You have your distortion and compression but with detail . My hunch is that the whole power supply string goes a long way to keeping the articulation and response just where one needs it. In terms of sitting in t...

Re: How about a 5E3 Deluxe, Princeton Reverb and 57 Bassman?
Printer 2, I'm not a fan of switches. You make me dizzy, 3 questions: 1. Your NFB resistors are acting in parallel all the time between the two genres, is that intended re. the presence? 2. There is something funky about your linked volumes on the tweed side - isn't wiper linked to wiper just a litt...

Dear Lefty,
sending you and your family thoughts and support for this difficult time. Having been through this with a beautiful dog, I fully understand the internal turmoil involved.
Chuang Tzu looks like a real character on the photos that you posted some time back. Damn.

Re: fuse holder
German language. They will be made that way because of a European Directive, for sure. It is much easier to pass laws on things like that, such as the EU norm for the tractor seat, rather than getting each and every federal community to agree on anything of any real importance. Sorry that yours are ...

Not sure what the question is, but the ESKA fuse holder " 602.400, E 6024, Feinsicherungshalter " looks like that one on the left of your picture. It is the middle one in the attatched pdf data sheet. The image shows it in the foreground and, for comparison, the remains of a typical Littlefuse from ...

Re: White Amplification Little Rock Tube Amp Help?
I remember these being written up positively in a recording magazine about 1982/3. Like the Burmans, also form the North of England, I think they were one of the few companies still using traditional tag boards and hand wiring at that time. Prices tend to be driven by amps being well known or on the...

Re: Trainwreck PT and OT originals. I have em!
Good news RJ. There are no real options here in the EU for a Wreck PT with 230 or 240V, so the response for those taps may be good. I have one of your old Heyboers with EU taps here from a while back. Works fine. Now I have amassed so much 110V equipment that I use various step downs and a couple of...
