Don't own, but have heard good first hand reviews. Budget Adams Audio nearfields with ribbon tweeter (if that's your thing). Been intending to audition a pair, about $500 delivered in states.

This worked well for me in a 2-12 cab. It's only $15.95 at AES.

Silvertone Thin Twin
Three years ago, at Christmas my brother gave me a guitar that was made the year I was born. Now I've got a twin. Thing sounds amazing with a dirt box and slide.

EV Speakers Louder?
Never had an EV, but hard to imagine anything louder than the E120. Bought the E120 new in 1976 and it still sounds terrific. It doesn't really distort, but it gets mid-range feedback in a totally unique way. Way too heavy to carry around anymore. Polarity usually needs to be reversed when pairing w...

Re: Lower Voltage JCM 800 Build
Thanks for the input. Think I will let it ride for a while and use the MASS to appease the neighbors.

Re: Lower Voltage JCM 800 Build
Thanks guys. Yes, it is based on a 2204. It's all preamp with this master and it does sound best opened up into the PI. Running it through a 100 watt MASS right now, trying to decide if I want to add a PPIMV. Do you guys think this would benefit with a second master?

Re: Lower Voltage JCM 800 Build
That's the low input switch I borrowed from Jana. Puts a 100k in series with the 470K on V2a (before CF), grid to ground. Two distinct gain options through one jack. Very versatile.

Lower Voltage JCM 800 Build
Been almost 40 years since I owned one of these. I forgot how loud they are! Had most of the parts accumulating over the years and after the Marshall section was added to the forum, and reading all the impressive ideas here, managed to assemble another working amp. In the spirit of keep it simple, a...

I built one of those for my nephew's graduation gift. That circuit is very aggressive. Had to lower 470K voltage divider after first stage to dump some gain. Screaming Marshall tone and not much clean.

Re: Pedal Mule 30 - Prototype build
Bob, on my last Rocket, I decided to pay attention to RA and grounded the HT CT, mains and screen filters and power tube cathodes to the first star. I would have grounded the filament CT there as well but I like the resisters to ground better. It is the quietest Rocket I have built. I hate hum.
