73 beat me to it. It screams Miyuki Elk to me... Re: Blackface Bassman chassis

If you are making your own cabinet then you may be able to track down a non reverb Bandmaster chassis, and for that matter a blackface showman chassis could be used since you are only running 2 output tubes. They are punched out the same but are 1 3/4" wider overall This was what I ordered and have...

Re: Blackface Bassman chassis

I've got a few of the old Gomez Amplification versions of the 6G6 chassis. No one makes a faceplate for them today and they're not exact, but pretty close. I think I paid $30 apiece for them back in the day. Collecting dust... And exactly how many of these chassis's do you have on hand and all, Bec...

Re: '63 Blonde Bassman 6G6B

Do not purchase the pots I listed earlier from Ebay. The 200K Center tap is real or OK Please review these photos of the 1Meg Pot. I ordered these to check out the resistance point of that tap. US Stock 2x 1M ohm 2W 6mm Round Shaft Rotary Taper Carbon Potentiometer WTH118 (Fake Item) Note: it is an ...

Re: '63 Blonde Bassman 6G6B

Hello 73GTV, Thanks for your comments. Picking back up on this thread, I tabled this project for a while due to Covid and other pressing projects. As for the tapped pot, the chassis is already wired for Martin's tapped pot substitute. The difference in response is small enough. I have it on good au...

Re: 1967 "Fender" Double Bassmaster Custom Amp

Wow, you have the transition series amplifier that later became Fender "Japan Only distribution" from the early seventies, Cool. You have that amplifier that joins Custom Amp from Elk to Fender Japan. After the Elk factory fire in 1969, there were several chassis cases that were not damaged in that ...

Re: '63 Blonde Bassman 6G6B

Katopan, have you tried simulating this tapped pot alternative I came up with? I think it comes pretty close to the original. After reading this post several times, I wondered if you could use this from eBay a 470k Potentiometer with the tap, higher resistance than the called for 350K/70k Tap, but ...

Re: When NOS is NOT NOS

Invertiguy: This is exactly why I love messing with old TV tubes instead of standard audio types. (Great Point) It would be worth starting another post on this subject of which TV tubes would work for making a different type (based on tube type and Voltages) of amplifier circuit. Based on what I hav...
