Re: Draloric Resistors - Before and After - Video Demo
I recall reading another account where the observer was struck by HAD's meticulous checking of the resistance of his solder connections. This has come up a few times, can someone explain how one could measure a solder connection? I never understood this one nor have I read it in any past manuals as...

Re: Bonamassa 50W ODS gut shot
More than likely rebrands the originals were made in Japan.. I have seen a few NOS floating around but never the right values  I personally do not care if they are Axials or radials? I'll take em! Think they are worth $945 a piece? https://www.ebay.com/itm/324179476691?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28...

ECG R415 Metal Film
Does anyone know how close these would be to the NTE that used to be available at Radio Shack? They are MF flameproof.

Re: MK8 vs. MK3 Roderstein
Well, guess we'll see soon enough. Tony and Ian thanks for listing your experiences with other resistors and what you heard diff between ratings. The ability to fine-tune through component selection was new to me a year or so ago, but I'm having a fun experience with it so far. I'm starting to feel ...

MK8 vs. MK3 Roderstein
Just got ahold of some Roderstein MK8 (2watt) for plate and cathode values for a 102 build. I had found someone with some MK3's (.5 watt) but they haven't been in contact for a while now. What do you guys think, will there be any difference in how the MK8 sound instead of the MK3? Should sound the s...

Re: Importance of 500pf bypass cap on V2A
When I was messing around with them I found that its critical to measure and make sure they are at least 500pf. Lower and you start to lose the sing. If a higher value produces better sing, I wonder what would be the highest value that could be substituted without it being too big of a departure fr...

Re: ODS pre with Subminis (complete)
Would you be able to give info on the power supply boards you are talking about? I am building an all pc board (except tube) dumblator that was originally going into a 124 based amp. After reading the issues others have had with an in the amp application, I've decided to house it in a separate box ...

Re: ODS pre with Subminis (complete)
Jubal, that turned out great, nicely done! I thought the same re using 12V input and powering the filaments directly; fewer parts and less heat. For anyone who might want to play with this concept, there are some pre-built boards available that can supply ~300V from 12 (basically the same SMPS circ...

Re: Amp Porn
Hey Ian Right now all 3 amps have the deep switch config. Not a big fan of the Mid boost.. This is what I generally try to stick to,depending on parts available at the time I have X5F 330's on the board as treble caps (390's are tough to find) and 250's on the bright..471 (mica)for bypass on V1B/22...
