I am in! I have no idea where to get my chassis now since rj is no longer selling them. Your stuff looks good and if you are consistent i can guarantee that the guys here will treat you well.

Dr Z. Stang Ray build.... Video, pics and that crappy Hum
My brother wanted me to build him a clean amp so i built a Dr. Z stang Ray and I must say that i am very happy with the the tone and it is fairly simple build. I also need to thank someone on this board but not sure if he wants a public acknowledgement. The one thing that stands out to me is the hum...

Capacitor Breakin jig - Any Ideas?
I realized that a caps really do need to break in and for someone like me who builds for friends and build for fun ( do less playing than I should) I would like to come up with something but no idea where to start. I remember reading that Nik, at ceriatone was contemplating building a jig for the us...

Re: Nik from Ceriatone talks about their components.
Nik is a wonderful guy and yeah the 14 yr old cork sniffer line is very very funny. The one thing about forums is you get a lot of people who run thier mouth and have no clue. For example I remember someone saying that solen caps stink etc and I used it in 5e3 build and they were wonderful. Also I b...

Re: Stupid question (dual voltage pt)
just seems odd to me, the 240 volt hookup makes sense but connecting all four seems oddly wrong.

Stupid question (dual voltage pt)
I purchased a dual voltage vox transformer and the instruction seem a bit odd. I also don't want to hook it up and burn my house down:). If someone can take a look and let me know what they think it would be greatly appreciated. I want to run at 120 volts primary. http://www.classictone.net/40-18050...

Re: Can someone explain transformer ma and amp ratings
several things: 1.) it squeals a bit, i have changed some values here and there so it does not much any more but when i max the gain knobs i still here it.... see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HMmGK1Oa9g&feature=youtu.be 2.) Really really noisy, I understand that this may be part of the desig...

Re: Can someone explain transformer ma and amp ratings
funny i just looked up the specs for a jcm 800 transformer and it seems way under powered using what i learned here. I would not consider a JCM 800 "vintage" either so i am not sure why it is so undervalued. I dont think that the afd 35 was built on a jcm 800 platform but rater a superlead. I think ...

Re: Can someone explain transformer ma and amp ratings
Sorry for the delay as I ask a question and disappear for a week but i was traveling. Ok so a hammond 290cx (http://www.hammondmfg.com/pdf/EDB290CX.pdf) pushing two 6550 tubes in a ceriatone afd 35 (50 watt amp) is not enough sufficient power or ma. This is maybe why the amp squeals, sounds and acts...

Can someone explain transformer ma and amp ratings
Can someone explain power transformer ma and what is good in certain applications. I have noticed 50 and 100 watt amps that are powered by transformers with low ma ratings and then 30 watt amps with a much higher ratting. Can someone please explain.
