Re: Source for Suede in Europe?

\ I have looked at microsuede, Bisontex and Alcantara and did not like the way they look. Electron Bisontex is a type of glue, sold in a can.. it's like a paste, used to glue carpets. it works better than normal spray glue. Don't know if they sell it in England, perhaps a different brand. Just go t...

Re: What makes Dumble style amp sound better?

lately I have been contemplating about experimenting with 'proven' magic transformers such as 'Lundahl'. Raving in the HIFI community, best thing since sliced bread. Very different looking from the outside though. It might be cool to start off with an SSS type. Such a transformer has many benefits, ...

Re: How to work the Overdrive

Kind off funny and unapreciative.. the guys managed to get their hands on a dumble, make loads of pics.. visit this forum to announce it and even made a nice quality video with different guitar on how the thing sounds (instead of the usual cellphone crap). And in return he gets laughed at for his pl...

Re: Source for Suede in Europe?

Hi! I am looking for a source of Suede in Europe. Maybe some of you guys have already identified a maker/source and used the material. I plan on having my SSS clone covered with Suede. Would appreciate any help! Thanks, Electron You can go to any online shop that sells cloths for clothing etc. just...

Re: What makes Dumble style amp sound better?

I LOL when I read that bit - I'm betting anyone in the UK would too. Fog? LMAO!! Its not that rainy either. Talk about stereotype! One finds these discussions in the old car trade all the time... does a particular chassis come from a forgiving climate like southern California? or from moisturised E...

Re: Shielded wire for Master/Loop distance?

Hello, I hav`nt shielded for now (with no problems) because I´m afraid to loose some "breathing" of the amp. I think to shield it is like a unwanted "corsett", you know what I mean? Whats your opinion? Best Hans-Jörg I have experimented with it on my 124 clone.. had both wires from the master pot s...

Faceplates

After a crash course in Inkscape I managed to make some faceplates for a 19 inch rack chassis. Decided to post them here so others may use it as well.

Sadly .svg format is not allowed..

Re: Wire routing, Over coaxial or under?

I would rout them under tight to the chassis to get benefit from shielding.

The plate supply voltage is rectified DC and therefore not so much a major hum inducing wire (or crosstalk). However, do keep your wires away from filament and OT primary wires.

Re: Stereo Dumblelator relay boost/loop switch. Little help?

Note that if you switch the 'solo boost' it will switch also the effects level. So if you have trailing delays, you will switch the level as well. It might be better to set the solo boost in the "send-part" of the loop. Yep! The aim is to boost the entire signal including effects. The effect level ...

Re: Stereo Dumblelator relay boost/loop switch. Little help?

Updated the lay-out. Decided to go for the simpler schematic with lifting the recovery ground and adding another pot. Also desided to go for the slightly bigger Transformer with 300VAC on the secondaries instead of 250. Thereby I can increase an extra dropping resistor to get the voltages. Voltages ...

Stereo Dumblelator relay boost/loop switch. Little help?

Hey there, I have been working on a lay out for a true stereo dumbleator (see attachment) with at least a switchable boost option, and perhaps I'll make an extra switching loop (for instance to switch an extra delay pedal in the rack. This extra switching loop however is not on the lay out yet. The ...

Re: What makes Dumble style amp sound better?

Kassie, How seasoned is seasoned enough for your taste? 60's Schumacher? Ohh I don't know well enough to answer that question. That would require setting up a proper experiment, AB-ing New Fender transformers, Old ones and new ones of different brands (on the flick of a switch, that's a costly busi...

Re: John Mayer with a Dumbleland?

How do we know he owns it? I am sure he has the means, but not every seller is stupid to let go of an investment. It can be on loan. Hell Bonamassa even has a 59 on loan. From a guy who wants it to be played but like to keep the property on his name.
