Re: Another speaker thread - 10'' speakers anybody?

What? You built a 6V6 Lite and didn't tell anybody? i guess i can come out of the closet now...i built a 6v6 (ultra) lite; only 2 switches clean/ od and jazz/rock, and presence is on the board.. i used heyboer trainwreck trannies all on a 16x6x2.5 chassis. i like it for finger style jazz through a ...

Re: Best Parts Supplier?

i'd like to give a shout out for steve at www.apexjr.com for great deals on teflon wire and somtimes pots as well. and for a bit of heresy, i use surplus radial e-lytics from www.allelectronics.com for 1,5, and 10 uf cathode bypass. also, no one mentioned antique electronics ( www.tubesandmore.com )...

Re: Crazy idea..but is it possible?

What about wiring a pot as a variable resistor, so that the signal goes directely to the output section when the wiper is in one end, and when the wiper is in the other end, the signal goes to the OD section. That way he could adjust the amount of signal going to the OD section if the pot was mount...

Re: First build ODS clone

check out www.ax84.com and www.18watt.com . ax84 has a number of well documented amp schemos and some are available in kit form. virtually all would be far less complex than a d-type. 18watt is devoted to the clones of the marshall 18 watt. great sounding amp and easy to build. also, plenty of kits ...

Re: First build ODS clone

cheers and welcome! don't know if i would recommend a d-type as a first amp. it is a fairly complex beast. likely you would get it to work, ie get sound if you plug a guitar in one end and a speaker in the other. but what comes out of the speaker may not be what you expect. read the posts in discuss...

Re: Noise problem - any idea ? (solved) (soundclip added)

Funny thing, I'm almost sure that my clone sounds better after 15-30 minutes of playing. Might be the warmed up fingers  I've noticed the same thing with my amp. After about 30 minutes it just starts to sing. At first I thought it was my imagination, but two other guitar players noticed the s...

took my baby out to play...

i took my d-type out to play last night...first time i played it somewhere other than in my music room/workshop. this was the first time i could crank the amp up in a large room that wasn’t full all sorts of other stuff to absorb, buzz, vibrate, and rattle. the performance of the amp was quite diffe...

when in doubt choose 'D': none of the above

you left out "none of the above" and "other".
i have none of your choices in my d-type. v1 is nos jan ge 12ax7. v2 and v3 are ancient mitsubishi 12ax7's that were in the donor chassis when i bought on ebay 4 years ago.
