Re: PSA Hammond transformer blowout

From the link above: "JUST GOT SCAMMED So I ordered a power transformer off of eBay. It was a Hammond Transformer and the price was really good. It was supposedly delivered today, but the picture from UPS shows somebody else's front door. So after a couple of hours of research and talking to UPS and...

Re: KiCad design files for a bunch of projects

Transistor is used if you need to switch multiple relays from one switch. Also you can use LED indicator either in the amp or in the pedal without needing any additional circuit. Just connect a LED from CTRL to ground and when you short CTRL to ground the relay switches and led turns off. Hey, than...

Re: Question covering with one piece of Tolex

I usually rest the wet side of a cab on two pieces of wood... 1/2" or less square by about 20-24". It doesn't seem to ever affect the end product in a negative way. I do like the "bed of nails" idea and may switch to that if I ever change things up.

Re: Can I use a Bassman 70watts PT and OT for a Deluxe reverb?

Maybe you could build it with the TX set you have and add a Lar-Mar type MV if that helps... quicker breakup at a lower volume.

You must not want much more dirt if switching from the Bassman circuit to the DR.

Re: Where to find Trainwreck Logos?

There is mojo to those amps, but it doesn't reside in the badge. You must lay them out correctly and most likely have to tweak the wiring to get the goods out of it, particularly, the tone stack wiring. Many people can throw the parts together but that doesn't mean it will sound like a real Trainwre...

Re: 2024 Monkeymatic Liverpool (nontraditional)

Those radial caps are not made to be hanging on their leads.. also i dont like gluing elcos to chassis..theit plastic envelope will be broken one day.. and then? They can be mechanically mounted very nice, holders exiting on the market. Also vote against use of this sockets. From my point of view t...

Re: Tube subs (12AY7, 12AU7) in old Traynor bassmasters?

Just a thought... If you want to reduce gain, you could change the Volume pots out to a lower value, not a higher one. This bleeds more of the gain of through the pot's connection to ground. A lower value pot presents a better path to ground. In a lot (not all) of the YBAs, the Volume pots are 4MA. ...

Idk about the schematic you are looking for, but the .sch files are likely created with ExpressPCB.

Re: Does Bias 1 ohm resistor tolerance matter?

The closer you get to 1 ohm, the closer you can directly convert the mV reading to mA. So if your resistor reads 2-3 ohms then your measurements would be way off.

Re: Sir 36 mod

Sounds pretty good. Sounds more like 39 than 36. The speakers make a huge difference to the tone as well.

Even though I REALLY don't dig that circuit for anything other than Slash (and I am kinda played out with that), I have done a ton of clip-listening. Are you using Greenbacks or G12-80s?

Re: CF driver Va - Vk voltages in SSS consensus?

Instead of taking the bias off the pot wiper you would use the pot to make a voltage divider with a variable ground leg. In the SSS 002, I like a 75k off the -170V, then a 24k3, then a 10k pot wired as a variable resistor to ground. Bias comes from the junction of the 75k and the 24k3. If the wiper...

Can you explain what should be done?
