Re: KMD 100W XV100SD Schematic

Good suggestions-thanks Steve. I did check them and they were okay. I got the gain channel working. I checked the signal flow with my scope, turns out that V2B had a bad solder connection on pin 1 and the 470k resistor was open. Glad it was that easy, I was almost certain it was going to be an issue...

Re: KMD 100W XV100SD Schematic

Wow, Thanks Mark. I was beginning to think this one was next to impossible to find. I'm going to jump back into it tomorrow, hopefully it won't be too tough. I appreciate the parts offer as well. I owe you one! Good call on your SSS conversion. There's some huge iron in these beast's.

Re: KMD 100W XV100SD Schematic

Tube reverb and the second gain channel is hybrid. I've been working late all week, gonna try to get back into it later today. Thanks.

KMD 100W XV100SD Schematic

Does anybody have a schematic for this amp. I had one dropped off here the other night and so far I only got around to pulling out the chassis. Complaints are second gain channel not working and weak reverb. Figured the schem might come in handy for troubleshooting the SS portion of the preamp.

Re: Mojotone JTM45 Schematic in Emailable Form?

@ Jelle. I didn't know the Mojo tranny had different taps. The one I worked on for a guy was 3.4k only. It had to be at least 3-4 years old. You cannot do a JTM45 with a 3.4K primary. Not with KT66's at full tilt.... smoke is the result. Jelle Yes I know that. I was saying the Mojo kit that I saw o...

Re: Mojotone JTM45 Schematic in Emailable Form?

Jelle is correct. You have most of what you need. You can get a nice transformer for a JTM 45 here http://store.triodestore.com/jtm45outr.html . You could also order a more accurate turret board, you may have to drill new holes for it but that's not a big deal. You could then possibly follow the met...

Re: Mojotone JTM45 Schematic in Emailable Form?

Mojo's kits are not exact replicas. They design them to their own specs. They sound good and the quality is nice but they are not always original spec. The JTM 45 kit is really more a JTM 50. IT has two cap cans mounted on the side of the chassis so you DO NOT need an extra filter on the board for t...

Re: Pyramid Strings

I've used them and I really liked them but out of 8 sets 6 of them had a dead sounding low E string. I couldn't figure it out until someone reminded me of something that I had forgotten. On round core strings bend them at a 90 degree angle before cutting them to length. If you don't the core can unw...

Re: buying NOS tubes

I've never tried heat shrink although I know people that have used it. Actually I use automotive O-Rings. I do my own auto repair and I have a good selection of AC O-Rings so they really didn't cost much at all. I'm guessing I might not be happy with the HS tubing. I don't like tube shields. I mostl...
