Re: Haunted Blues Junior

That will be my game plan for today... going to check the top of the sockets to the back of the board to check for any breaks there; then if that checks good the next step will be checking all the ribbon connections, along with some re-soldering.

Haunted Blues Junior

Okay, ready to pull my hair out over this one... Friend talked me into installing Bill M modes into his BJ; so did the job, back together, amp sounds great. He took it home, played it a bit, then called me up saying it was crackling and cutting in/out... so get it back here, take it apart; found a s...

Re: Show me your cool wood cabs

Wow, some incredible cabs here! Here is my 5E3 in quilted maple, Stand Alone Reverb unit in Cherry, and a Franken-Champ in ash - all built from locally fell lumber [IMG:1023:682]http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af157/kbperry810/H157%20Custom/IMG_1954.jpg[/img] [IMG:1023:682]http://i1003.photobuck...

Re: Amp Nation new logo and shop upgrade!

Agreed! Those mighty fine examples of Taylor's work are heading my way! ...just a shame I'll be lacquering them, adding an amp and speaker, and sending them along to another :( That's a real nice table saw setup, Incra Miter gauges are great! - they sure do make life a little easier in the woodshop.

Well said Bob

I've learned many a self taught lesson along those very same lines; funny how great a motivator comes from scrambling to figure out where you might have screwed up.

Re: Amplified Nation Tolex Tutorial

Well with all that talk about glue, it was bound to get sticky! (insert rim shot here)

This is great, now anytime I need to cover a cab all I have to do is watch this video again... which will remind me while I always have you do it for me!

This is going to be a cool forum project. Anyone have a layout?
I started drawing one up on a napkin after watching a performance of John Mayer playing one of these on You Tube

Re: What is wrong with SOZO?

I recently had problems with a Sozo order too... emailed, called, left voicemails, never got a reply. Then eventually just out of the blue the package arrives with the caps I had ordered -though they were just all flopping around freely in a zip lock back (were not packaged at all, and I was not ver...

Re: Single Ended Amp Problem - Fuse Blowing

I couldn't find a wiring diagram for that PT by the part number - and it looks like the schematic image is blocked at work for me so not sure how much help I'll be :( I was curious as to if your PT has multiple primary leads - if so, there are a few other possible things to check; like for instance ...

Re: Single Ended Amp Problem - Fuse Blowing

Have any pictures of the insides to share?

What is the make/model of the PT you are using?

Also, for the SS rectifier, are you using an internal bridge, or is there an actual octal socket with a SS rectifier plugged in (just curious)

Re: Transformer differences...

After limited testing, I've found the high priced transformers (you know what that means) are not superior, But, they do have the best advertising. I've had very good luck with MC, Heyboer, Hammond and Weber iron. I've not tried Edcor yet, but they get good reviews too. Same here ...and that's not ...

Okay, you might want to go grab some popcorn before you start reading this one... Lies, lies, lies, and then a few more lies... String me along for 6 months, get called out as "Wicked"... including after I nearly walked right into buying more stuff from "Wicked" without you saying a word (thank good...

Re: Dumb question re: mounting PT

All possible pros and/or cons set aside... a great deal of the laydown transformers I've used these nuts were practically "glued" in place... I started using a second set and leaving these as spacers out of convenience and/or out of fear of doing more harm than good trying to remove them. `
