Re: Fattening the clean side of a non-HRM
By Speaker I think they mean, is this speaker/cab combination the right one for your heavily modified amp. I had two cabs and two speakers. For some reason both speakers sounded good in one cab, but only one of the speakers sounded good in the second cab. At least with my 50 watter. Just try other c...

Re: Power Transformer Questions
Tom, for OT I bought the mojo twin iron with 4-8-16 taps. I've yet to try and fire it up, but normally you go all twin iron on a 100 watt build. They told me their ot was made by heyboer. I called heyboer and they confirmed, and heyboer's price was higher so I bought from mojo since they buy by the ...

For stand-up transformers you can try changing out the bell ends so it becomes a lay-down type. Just have to find the correct size. Just a thought.

take all the guts out, including transformers, speaker, tubes. Then sell all that stuff on ebay. Use that money and maybe you can buy new tubes and trasformers. Then it will be like a scratch build, I am sure you are going to have a lot of fun with it, I do like the way those combo amps look. Good l...

Structo, if you are starting to source parts like I am you should take a look at the new camouflage board material from turretboards. I have yet to receive mine but that would look wicked I think. Just a tought. I don't know if it will make troubleshooting more difficult though, since everything wil...

Don't forget Van Zandt pickups, i like them very much. I use a combination of blues and rock. They also have their version of the vintage (54 type I guess).

A step drill bit is a must have for any amp building person. Buy the good one that goes up to 1 1/4 or 1 3/8, it is very usefull and not just for amp building.
They are not cheap though, expect to pay 40 to 50 bucks for a good one and use a little bit of oil to prolong its life.
+1 on that.

I came across that auction. It seemed silly the amount of money they are asking for it, and they make it seem like it's got the dumble mojo in it. I bet you if you open it it will have all the electronics gooped up.

Re: Best affordable D-clone
there are other places to buy heyboer tranformers, one of his distribuitors is mojotone. I bought an OT from them and it sounds pretty good. The price is lower than if you buy it from heyboer directly since they buy them by the bulk.
