Re: Replacing shielded coax with single conductor question
What is the concensus on the preferred type of coax to be use? I am using RG-174. Does anyone know the capacitance?

Re: PT Minimum current rating for a 4 6L6 build
Thanks Gil. I will go from the assumption that you made. I guess I should have asked the real question, is if 300 mA would be enough since that I the transformer that I have in hand. That would give me about 130watts.
Thanks

PT Minimum current rating for a 4 6L6 build
Can someone tell me what the minimum current rating for a PT is when you are using 4 6L6 power tubes? I know that a Twin PT is rated for about 450mA. But is that really the minimum needed for a 88 watt build?
Please let me know
Thanks all

Marcos, you mentioned earlier about how great the FET circuit works on this amp. What is so special about it? Is it the same FET circuit found on the other amps? Please let me know your findings. I was about to try different fets but did not know where to start. Thanks, great looking amp. Clips woul...

March through November is about 9 months, that beats HAD a long way.

Re: ADD REVERB IN #124 SCHEMATIC
You are correct Bob. Thanks for making the correction. I did end up with 220K, with a short tank, 3 springs. However, for me 220k is more than I need.
Thanks

Re: ADD REVERB IN #124 SCHEMATIC
For R10 start with a value between 47K and 27K. You have to calculate the power dissipation on the tube so you won't fry it with the higher voltage. Just keep that in mind. I put mine just after the master and before the PI. It works great. You can also experiment with the mix resistor, I believe th...

Re: BM/HRM soundcheck
I hear some noise, likely to be computer noise maybe. But, in your room, is the amp quiet? How do you like those Hammond transformers? I've heared mixed opinions on them, and would like to hear from someone who's actually built an amp with them. Please let me know as I was contemplating buying a pai...

Did you use orange 6ps or did you use something else for coupling caps?

Actually, we could sell clones and advertised them as: "This is NOT a Dumble amp, but actually a better product than the real deal for much less money".
Would that be accurate?

Re: d-lite vs d-umble
Structo, when you talk about the "few tweaks", are those the ones mentioned in the "tweaked" d-lite schematic that is running around?
I know it sounds obvious but wanted to make sure you were talking about the same thing.
Thanks
Frank

I used a 10K tail resistor and it worked better for me. I use 6v6 and 6l6, I get a better range to work with.

Re: Newbie wiring questions
I've used teflon single core 20 gauge all aroung and worked fine. No noise issues or anything, but like it was indicated before, make sure you get a very good quality wire stripper... mine kept holding the insulation too tight sometimes and it ended up thinning out a portion of the insulation that i...
