Re: Who can make a 15-w ODS

+1 on the 50 watt or higher. 22 watts if you think you will never leave your bedroom, but like me, I am sure a lot of people who wanted more clean headroom must have already converted to 50 or 100 watts. I have now both 50 and 100 watt and like the 100 watt very much. The master control will keep it...

Re: 50w Bluesmaster in a Princeton Reverb chassis ? Possible?

In order to make perfectly aligned control holes, when you order your faceplates ask them to drill just a pilot hole and not the hole to fit the potentiometer. That way you can put the faceplate on top, hold it firmly in place with some tape and then drill the full holes. What i do is I drill one ho...

Re: New 50 watter, crackling noise when warmed up

the tubes are fine, they are rated for 400v. Right now they got 428v on the plates.
The question is, does anyone know if the voltage is supposed to drop from 440 to 428 by changing from 6L6 to 5881's?

Re: Alternate FET circuit

They should make this a sticky, for those who like to fiddle with the FET input. I would like to try it myself

Re: New 50 watter, crackling noise when warmed up

Thanks Tony. Also, is it normal for the voltage to drop more than 10volts just by using 5881's vs 6L6's?

New 50 watter, crackling noise when warmed up

I just finished rebuilding my own variation of non-hrm101. When I first turned it on I freaked out because I could not hear anything, it was completely silent, until I plugged my guitar in and there was beautiful 3d sound, but after a little while I can hear crackling noise when not playing. Kind of...

Re: Bias pot wattage.

think about it, even if you had all 60 volts on the 10k pot, then it would be dissipating 60*60/10000=0.36 watts. I personally wouldn't use anything less than half a watt. I am not sure what the wattage of the regulas bias pots are. Try tubesandmore.com, they have what you're looking for.

Re: xformer for D-lator

I heard of the button from the tube depot, and the little one from Allen amps. I've tried one myself but I really like the on from Allen.

Re: Tube Depot's "The Button" trafo

Check out Allen Amp's TP2X. more robust and about the same size. I've never built a d-lator before but could someone verify that the voltages will be in the ball park?
Thanks

Re: 100 watt build

yeah, what's up with the RN65's. I like those on the plates. I've used them in other places but they tend to make the amp sound harsh. I keep it simple with carbon film

Re: Fattening the clean side of a non-HRM

By Speaker I think they mean, is this speaker/cab combination the right one for your heavily modified amp. I had two cabs and two speakers. For some reason both speakers sounded good in one cab, but only one of the speakers sounded good in the second cab. At least with my 50 watter. Just try other c...
