Re: Switchable cathode bypass capacitor for Bassman 6g6B

Push-pull pot for one of the tone controls: you could use a SPST and put the larger cap in parallel with the smaller cap and avoid swithching noises at the same time..I like 10uf caps-less mud, just me....
YMMV.

Re: Fender 75 Board Layout

The 75 is a prime candidate for modding. The OD channel just sucked ass...There have been successful Dumble conversions of that amp. No pitchforks here! I just don't want you to waste time on "that" part of the amp.

I'm wondering: are you building a 75?

Back panel for Deluxe Reverb

Anyone try a Dumble style oval hole replacement back panel on their Deluxe Reverb? I wonder if it would improve bass response? I'm so spoiled by my 2x12" D-style cabinet. It would be great to get the same type response from my combo. Sometimes, I just don't wanna bring all that stuff and my DR is my...

Re: Dumble style 2x10" cabinet

I guess that would be "no". I wonder how a single 10" in an oval back cabinet would compare to a 12"?

Re: Should One a a midrange control on their blackface Bassman?

I put a midrange control in the #2 input jack of my Bassman and really like having the added "control" it offers. The question's syntax was a bit unclear, so if I understand the question, then, I vote "YES."

Dumble style 2x10" cabinet

I was curious about a 2 x 10' Dumble style cabinet; oval port on the rear panel. I was wondering if anyone had seen/built/heard one before. I have a handful of 10's lying around and thought it might be an alternative to my killer sounding, back breaking 2x12" cabinet....

Re: Bassman 6g6B Build

I hope BillyZ doesn't mind. He's a contributor here: http://www.billyz.net/Fender%20Bassman%20Head%20mod.html Just an idea, a good one if you want my opinion. I also own an original 6G6B. Love it! But I also miss the 5 BF Bassman's I've owned and sold, also. I modded a friends AB165 to Trainwreck Ex...

Re: Cable for Footswitch: NOW FIXED, added PICS

FYI: those CE cables don't last for working musicians. They are just not hardy. I went through a couple with internal breaks, then put MIDI jacks on the footswitch and amp. I now use a standard heavy duty MIDI cable. Your mileage may vary. All disclaimers apply Check with your dealer for details ......
