OK.....this was an old project that I made some changes including putting smaller output and power x'formers. It just dawned on me....that was the problem. The power x'former doesn't have a center tap so I'll need to dump the diodes and install a full wave rectifier. LOL...duh... I guess that's what...

OK, I haven't seen this one before. Here's what happens. With all of the tubes out I get high enough voltage from the power supply. Plug in a few tubes, even with the outputs not installed and I get only about 20 volts. The amp works at the low voltage(with 2 12xxx7's and 2 6L5's, as I have it hooke...

I will use the chassis in a head cab so I'm not worried about hitting the speaker.

I know I'll have to change the X'formers. I can use a SS Rectifier and use the old rectifier tube socket for the second output tube. Hey...you're BOTH making some good points. If parts are not a problem I don't see how one can't make money building amps if you have a lot of orders. Yes the VVT X amp sounds really nice but right now $1K is a bit over the top for me so I'll have to go for a build. In fact a number of the VVT amp clips sound great. They've made an art of tweeking that sound.
