Re: Where are the amp builds?
I am building amps all the time. I post my builds as progress pictures for my customers on my Frugal Amps Facebook page. I am not a real "Facebook" person but it was so much easire to post daily pictures there for folks to see their amps than to try to update my now dated Web page that I succumbed t...

Re: New build ultimate dumble-based amp (1)
Now that several years have gone by since this version of the amp was posted, has anyone here actually built this amp? I would love to know if it works as drawn and how it sounds.

Re: CtG electronics FCBN 51B question
I built this circuit for a customer. The amp came out great and sounded quite nice- but I have to say I am not a Bass guy but believe the new owner when he tells me its sounding great. If you want to check it out I have pictures of the build posted here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.644...

Re: Unbalanced voltages from Power transformer- Problem??
Are you absolutely sure you selected the correct leads for center tap and bias, not got 'em reversed? Yes, I've done that too... and it ain't pretty at all. If you're sure you do have the CT & bias ID'd, I wouldn't commit to drilling holes to mount the oldie but goldie until you clip it in & see whe...

Re: Unbalanced voltages from Power transformer- Problem??
Thanks for the link- I will give this a try and see if it indicates any potential winding problems. I'd hate to build out the amp only to have a failure in the PT after a short time of use.

Unbalanced voltages from Power transformer- Problem??
So I have a build in progress. I was asked to reuse a power transformer from a 60's PA amp that was driving a pair of 6L6 power tubes and has a bias circuit tap as well. When I measure the unloaded transformer I am getting 350-0-380 out of the high voltage leads. I am wondering if- after running to ...

15 Watt Liverpool build with parts from RJ Guitars
Hi Folks- I recently completed a build for a customer that I relied heavily on RJ for many of the basic parts. I used his modular style chassis and the Edcor Transformers along with the traditional full sized boards he makes. Oh, I and tried the EL84 power tubes he also stocks and while I haven't us...

Re: Ultimate Hammond Conversions thread
Sorry to come late to this thread. I have used many of the Hammond Family of organ amps and build dozens and dozens of successful amps from them. As a rough guide, I have used the following amps for different builds: AO44 amp can become a great low wattage clean amp or I have used the iron to produc...
