Source for Chassis 18 watt Liverpool build
Hi folks- I have been trying to get a response from RJ as he would be my source for a chassis for the build I have on tap...however, no response. I am wondering if there are any other sources out there. I have also used the Dirty Dawg chassis before but it looks like he has also been sidelined. Any ...

Re: another JCM800 18W
Will you be using a lower voltage power transformer and appropriate output transformer?? I would assume that you will need to reduce the dropping string resistors of the power supply when you do this.

Re: Single channel non reverb Twin style build
Yes, Mag Comp stuff all around. I can honestly say I think they provide the best bang for the bucks in transformers out there. I am not a paid spokesperson for them. I certainly have no issue with Heyboer or other makers but day in and day out just great tone at a great price. And I am all about the...

Re: Single channel non reverb Twin style build
So to finish off this thread, I built the circuit and shipped it off to its new home. It was 80 watts of loud clean but modded with a PPIV master volume to maintain some sanity. Thanks for all the help. More pics at my Facebook page.

Re: Single channel non reverb Twin style build
Thanks for the schematics and layouts. I have to agree a Twin Reverb with no reverb is not really a Twin Reverb...but since the customer is always right, this is what I will build. Since the Dual Showman Vibrato channel is basically the same thing, this is what I will use. The customer wants a big c...

Re: Single channel non reverb Twin style build
Just going to mimic the Showman but with single channel, so no reverb there to begin with. But thanks for mentioning this for future reference.

Single channel non reverb Twin style build
I have a request to build a single channel Blackface Twin but without the reverb. So, its really almost a Dual showman but with one channel. So, the only question is that the dual channels meet into a mixing set of 220k resistors...and if I am eliminating the normal channel, do I also eliminate the ...

Re: Chassis and faceplate match
A little off topic but I was wondering about these modulus chassis offerings and what shipping to the US would be like? I think the price is good..but since shipping everywhere has been going up, it may kill the deal.

Re: Noisy Basement
Do you have an old refrigerator, freezer or other electric motor running down there. This can really mess up the single coils.

Re: Bogner Uberschall schematic
The clean channel on the SLO is much lower in volume than the OD channels. Its the nature of the beast if built stock.

Re: Asian silver od reverb chassis
I have used this style chassis before. I had Amplified Nation build me a cabinet that let me slide the chassis into the cabinet with no bolts and secure the chassis front and back by the opening frame in front and secured in the back by the rear cabinet cover. It was locked in good and tight and the...

Re: Identifying the use of a PT?
While I can't ID the original use of this transformer, I would think it wise to test the real voltage output of it with today's higher line voltages- I sometimes find they put out quite a bit higher than originally rated because of that.

Re: restoring a narrow panel princeton
Hi- A narrow panel tweed Princeton is over 50 years old. Replace all the power supply electrolytic caps (you can put them in a bag to save for a future sale or some guys actually pull the innards out and put a modern cap inside the old paper housing so they "look" correct). I would not do anything t...

Re: deluxe reverb distortion
In a recent build of mine for this circuit I do notice the modern transformers being listed as the proper AC voltage and using a 5AR4 rectifier will hit those power tubes with some pretty high voltage. Fender did this in its designs but on the schematic I have seen from Fender the voltages are lower...
