Re: Split load plop

Lately I tend to use mosfet relays like Mouser Part No: 769-AQW654 . No moving parts and you can operate the led side with virtually anything between 2 and 5v The one switching my K50's split load is a traditional 5v relay ( Mouser Part No: 653-G5V-2-H1-DC5). I used it because I wanted a dpdt relay ...

Re: New Reverb Rockster build

While trying to push the reverb harder, I reached 17ma with a 100R cathode resistor for the combined triodes. Now it's at 2.7ma with 2k2 and it's got plenty of reverb....

What a great amp

Re: New Reverb Rockster build

I found out: The leads to the reverb tank were reversed. If you look closely to the layout drawing, they are already wrong there! The lead going to the recovery stage (V2a) should come from the RED RCA connector and not from the white. Thanks for all the help. I did learn a lot in the process...

Re: New Reverb Rockster build

I took my time to update the voltage chart. I have also updated the posted schematic with a few changes I made. I had to increase the step down resistor to B4 so that the 12AT7 would not be out of specs. The one in the picture is 20k (instead of the 3k3 that was in the schematic). I just changed it ...

Re: New Reverb Rockster build

Thanks for your comments... I just tried with a 1m tail to the Reverb pot ground. Slight improvement, it's worth living it there, maybe even increasing it

Here is all the documentation of the project. Layout and schematics. Attached are also the Visio files, including drilling templates.

Thanks to all that contributed to this design, specially to rj.

New Reverb Rockster build

Hi all. I just built a KT66 equipped Rocket with reverb for a friend of mine. It has a PI with plexi values, power scale (just the PA es scaled), PPIMV and foot switchable reverb and boost. The boost parallels a capacitor on the second gain stage and, optionally, lifts the ground from the tone stack...

Re: R7 resistor Question liver pool

Wouldn't the 150k increase gain vs the 68k?

Re: K50 Build

In my case, volume difference depends on mastervolume setting. I installed a bootstrapped master volume to compensate for different power scale settings. If it is set for easyly clipping the PA, the difference in volume is not significant. If set for super clean gradual mode, then the difference is ...

Re: SE Wreck

For bedroom level with these kind of amps in which PA clipping contributes a lot to its distorted sound, you have to go to down to 1watt or even less. I would try VVR or power scaling. I have an AX84 HO (from 1 watt to about 7 watts depending on the output tube) and I ended up power scaling that one...
