Re: Tweedle-D
I stole this image from somewhere else on the net, I apologize that I don't know who to give credit to for it. 5e3__ts.gif The 5E3 tone control gives the normal channel audio signal an extra pair of paths to ground (in yellow), one of which is additionally affected by the bright channel volume cont...

Re: Tweedle-D
Hi Phil, I wired mine up as 68K's one channel 1 and 33K's on channel 2's inputs. (4 inputs total-used a 5e3 chassis). I was thinking 2 volume controls but now that you mention it your right, the way the volume controls are wired they all ready act as mixing resistors...... and the stock tone control...

Tweedle-D
Hey Folks, I am tinkering around with ideas for the amp. I love the sound and dynamic feel of the tweedle D. Both channels sound pretty identical to me so I was looking at the ever so popular cascade mod BUT there are no mixing resistors on a stock 5e3 or Tweedle D. Do any of you have experience wit...

Re: New SLO 100 clone
My biggest complaint was the effects loop on my SLO build. (depth is 100% required for hi gain tones). I would put a switch on the back with a 1uf cap parallel on the loop recovery cathode for a gain boost to use pedals and not line level effects. besides that I still regret selling my clone. The SL...

Re: Need help deciding on my next amp build...
And I have my own favorite, the 6G6B that morphs into JTM45 territory by subbing a 25K pot for the tone stack tail resistor. A pair of 6L6 or EL34 for about 40 watts. There's the intersection of Fender and Marshall right there. Add a PPIMV master or VVR and you've got a lot of territory covered. An...

PV Valveking PT filaments
Hey Guys, I am working on an amp build for a friend and he brought me a pair of Transformers from a 100W peavey Valveking. I have attached the schematic. I am trying to decipher their cheap way of getting around the filament current cost. It Looks like the first two preamps are ran parallel with DC ...

check voltages on all pins of V9. but as stated before V9 components need to be verified. careful those boards lift very easily.

Re: Tweedle D build in progress - looking for suggestions
If you use vintage 6V6 you may wish to use a 5Y3 look up the tube data 350v Max. I'm sure Mr. Dumble used the JJ 6V6-S B+1 was 398.1 with a GZ34 on the real Tweedle Dee Deluxe. Check your V-1 voltage pin. 1 & 6 should be 172 volt range. Enjoy. Steve. I will try a different rectifier and report back

Re: Tweedle D build in progress - looking for suggestions
I am going to need to post some full pics of mine now too :-) 422v on the plates, with the JJ 6V6's drawing roughly 40ma of current each with 350ohms on the cathode. alittle hot but..... let me tell you, this amp sounds so good. I haven't even adjusted the trimmer pot. It has such a balanced tone wi...
