Re: New 20 watt SD build
Here is the latest and final revision (I hope...LOL...) V1b Cathode went from .1 to .047 to .22 V2a Cathode went from .47 to .33 PI Couplers went from .047 to .066 Also, in the first schematic, I forgot to draw the 100pf across the input jack. Thanks! This is the foundation, but not my final design. I am still in the brainstorming stage:brewdude wrote:Can you please point me to a schematic?

Re: I found this that may apply
It may be the case that 4 6V6 tubes will place too great a load on the 12A _7 if you get into the output tubes drawing grid current and in a sense, shorting the driver tube. It may be the case the parallel AU7 is needed after all. Something that keeps showing up is the need for a strong signal at t...

Re: Anybody considered this?
That sounds great. My only disagreement with you is to switch it on the fly. You risk arcing inside the switch that could be catastrophic. I always tell my clients, power down completely, wait 30 seconds, switch, and then restore power. YMMV...

Re: I like mine too
Hey FusionBear, My build of just the 6s100 power section sounds really great with an amp emulator. It reproduces that changy grind of the high gain amps. I made a couple changes to Webbers design by using one side of a 12AX7 instead of (2) AU7's in parallel, since I was driving 6L6 power tubes inst...

6S100 Driver Circuit
Hello Gents. I am contemplating my next build. I really liked the 6S100's I previously built and sold and now am considering a 4-6V6 version. I want to keep the EF86>12AU7 driver part of the circuit. Do you see any issues doing this into a quad of 6V6's? I don't but many of you are much more knowled...

Very little, not enough for me to switch to DC on the filaments...caps8419 wrote:just wanted to say this thread is bad ass. Thanks for updating it!
Are you using AC heaters for all tubes? any hum issues with the non-self balanced 6SL7's?

Re: Octal based Express
I used this bias calculator and according to it, I am at about 78% for the 6550A's that are in it right now.

Re: New 20 watt SD build
Hey, I built an amp with the SuperDrive preamp, and wound up subbing a different loop as well. The loop used had send and receive stages, both with level controls. It's pretty good. How do you like the loop in this build? Does it work well with a delay pedal? Seems like you're pretty happy with it....

Re: Editable ExpressSCH Express schematic
I tried 10thTx's suggestion of the 120pf across the 82k plate PI resistor and prefer it. I removed the 47pf snubber. I also added a 510K across the 50uf B1+ Filter cap. Also, I double checked my circuit and I have a 82k on the plate of V1.
