PV 30 Schem Quest
http://el34world.com/charts/Schematics/files/peavey/c30%20schem.gif For the reverb circuit..... Maybe I am looking right at it.? But I am use to seeing a symbol that looks like a spring reverb tank.....like on a BF Fender schem. 1. What represents the tank on this PV schem.? I was assuming it is the...

Re: Test Point Quest...
Thanks Steve -
Did not even look at the Deville Schem.
Working from a laptop right now, and I cannot magnify anything.
Will look at that later when I am on the desktop, and I can enlarge the schems.
Thank You

Test Point Quest...
http://www2.fender.com/support/articles ... xe+reissue
When you see one of these Fender Schems, and they show a "test point" inside of a circle, with a specified voltage (often in miliamps) is the voltage:
1. Measured from ground.?
2. Is this AC or DC.?
Thank You

Re: Illinois cap bought by Cornell Dubilier
How will guys defend themselves now.....when a poster on TGP ask what caps are "best".....and a dozen people tell him how crappy IC are..."Stay away from IC".......what will they think when they hear CD owns the brand.? I guess something like....."I don't give a rats ass WHO owns them.! They make lo...

Wow....don't those go (for people that would pay it) for A LOT of money.?
They sure made beautiful looking gear.
Would love to have a pair of those.

Re: Presence Pot
That's because most of the presence pots use a different schematic. Basically a 4k7 resistor to ground in parallel with the presence pot+cap. This way you have no DC across the pot, only AC, and the pot doesn't crackle. Yeah.....looking at some other schems now...I see what you are saying. Thank You

Re: Presence Pot
So that 15VDC is idle (cathode/plate) current, across the 5k pot.?
I guess I do not remember Presence Pots being this noisy.?

Presence Pot
http://el34world.com/charts/Schematics/files/marshall/Marshall_jmp_superlead_100w_1959.pdf For this Super Lead schem. The presence pot. I understand (I Think) how it works.....separating certain, higher frequencies from the NFB, so those AC signals do or do not get into the NFB circuit. Is there nor...

Re: F*#king 1/4" phone plugs!
Yes... a ground loop, and is why I used the shoulder washers, and why I mentioned the Cliff style as being Isolated. Just a consideration when comparing the two styles. I probably just got hold of a bad batch of Switchcraft from CE...who got bad sets from Their Supplier. It happens. I had 50% failur...

Re: F*#king 1/4" phone plugs!
Better late than never....... I guess it was about 2-3 years ago.?.......I had trouble with a lot of 10 that I bought from CE. 4 or 5 of them did not make good contact with no plug inserted. Somebody back then recommended the "Industrial/Commercial" variant. They are a lot more expensive...but if yo...

Re: Joe Cocker dies
Man.....I didn't know.....and then I see Bobby Keys (and Jim Price) in the Box Tops video as well. I'm sorry....but Pop Music that I heard in the 1960's and 1970's is just way better than what kids hear today. Pop Music of the 1930's-1940's-1950's was also way better than what kids hear today. Anywa...

Re: On the Road with Janis Joplin
Hey Martin -
Thanks for the book info.
As you imply.....it will take in more than just her life, which was in no small part, a product of those very tumultuous times.
I look forward to reading it.
Thanks Again
