Re: PAYPAL Users Beware

I had this happen recently. I sold a guy a $2k amp. He claimed that it never arrived despite FedEx signature confirmation. Reverb.com, Paypal, and FedEx all claimed no responsibility for it. Similar to you, he paid with a credit card and had the credit card pull the funds back from Paypal, which the...

I like Dave Funk's Tube Amp Workbook - Vol 1, which is all about Fenders.

Re: Sound City Concord -- sleeper?

Oh, not me. Too many amps in the house. If I don't stack them carefully, I may get crushed. Me too! Either it is a screaming deal or I don't touch it these days. This one is too ugly/non-traditional to build a nice amp in. You'll spend a lot of time, but then have to discount b/c of a lack of buyer...

Re: Anybody seen this or tried it?

I've used this on Marshall style amps. You can experiment with it to get some cool sounds. Check out the Cameron mods to see it implemented. It is also a good way to add some bottom end to the amp (well, subtract the top, but you know what I mean).

That looks cool. I love the SuperDrive and really like the SSS, so I would imagine that you have a real beast on your hands (in a good way). Nice work!

Re: Bandmaster Ultra Phonix Amp

Bandmasters and Pro Reverbs came stock with very undersized OTs. Dumble changed the Bamdmaster transformers on every UP that I've seen. Also, based on the 4-5 that I've seen, the Bluesmaster setup seems to be the standard for UPs. That being said, I've seen a variety of tweaks to the individual pre...

Re: Amp Build Strategy

I've built some experimental power sections (with PI) first and then plugged rack preamps like an ADA MP1 into the loop. The voltages will be high, but you can confirm the power section is working. Probably no need for this if you're building something standard.
