Re: Ordered a BlueMonkey in March 09 - Still didn't get it
Hi guys, I ordered a BlueMonkey kit from Brownnote about 8 months ago, and I still haven't got it. The worst part is that last time I heard from Moss, it was September 3rd. Since then, he doesn't reply to my mails, so I don't know what's going on. Is there anybody who knows him well and could kindl...

HRM versions off the beaten path
I have some parts to burn up, enough to make another amp. Anyone have any HRM derivatives off the beaten path that they like? I'm leaning towards something in the 50W range, but will entertain any ideas from 25-100W.

Re: d*mble.com for sale...
I have filed a report at Ebay. The seller in question is a domain pirate, violating the rights of Alexander Dumble IMHO. So lets stop him. At one time or another I've privately owned, released and or sold several domain names. It is not necessarily a violation, but that's what judges and lawyers ar...

Re: help please
I swear that one was on ebay not long ago, few months back maybe. Those are the same pics. Guy had a Buy it now price a little less than 30K I think. Bidding maybe hit 22K. Not that it means anything, just saying. Looks like same(pictues anyway) guy, he seemed pretty legit to me. IIRC he said at on...

High Voltage Kleinulator
Here's one I built this week, about 36V from a 10.5V source. It didn't dawn on me until after I laid it out and punched holes that I could have easily made it up to around 42V....oh well.

Re: Understanding the cathode follower (D-ulator)
I'll investigate this, thanks. Does increasing the 10k tail generally suffice to rebias the cf stage, or have you found that the cathode resistor also needs to be increased? Increasing the tail would probably do the trick, but I have not tried it. I would say increasing the cathode is still a good ...

Dumbleator Resistor Values
Ok, I've seen DL schematics that show the input stage with a 1M followed by either a 10K or 27K to ground. How critical is the value of that resistor to ground? Using parts I have on hand, I can either install a 10K or 29.9K. Will there be any real tangible difference if I use that 29.9K over the 10...

Re: OD trimmer on the back wall
His trimmer was more like an actually trim pot rather than a normal pot though. It was just a tiny thread sticking out the back that could be adjusted with a small flat head screw driver. Wouldn't mind knowing where to get a pot like that. Chris, I have a build in progress using that style of trimp...

Re: HAD is alive and well and policing ebay....
I just find this whole thing totally BIZARRE!! and down right depressing!!! First we the amp building community who take homage in honoring this man's work by replicating or refrencing his design in one form or another in a very positive way... In doing so we reinforce this to the general public......

Re: "Dumble" is trademarked
[quote="Tonegeek Dumble is more an adjective in this case, not a proper name.[/quote] It would be nearly impossible to not to convince a jury that the "adjective Dumble" when used in the context of an amplifier ad, would not be associated with the registered Dumble trademark. Nevertheless, past case...

"Dumble" is trademarked
[quote="Tonegeek" So if I sell a custom race car with a Ford motor in it they are going to pull my auction? Whats the difference between that and selling an amp you built yourself that has a brand x phase inverter circuit or brand y overdrive circuit. . I will be ready to sue if my auction gets bloc...
