I have some parts to burn up, enough to make another amp. Anyone have any HRM derivatives off the beaten path that they like? I'm leaning towards something in the 50W range, but will entertain any ideas from 25-100W.

Here's one I built this week, about 36V from a 10.5V source. It didn't dawn on me until after I laid it out and punched holes that I could have easily made it up to around 42V....oh well.

Increasing the tail would probably do the trick, but I have not tried it. I would say increasing the cathode is still a good ...

Ok, I've seen DL schematics that show the input stage with a 1M followed by either a 10K or 27K to ground. How critical is the value of that resistor to ground? Using parts I have on hand, I can either install a 10K or 29.9K. Will there be any real tangible difference if I use that 29.9K over the 10...

His trimmer was more like an actually trim pot rather than a normal pot though. It was just a tiny thread sticking out the back that could be adjusted with a small flat head screw driver. Wouldn't mind knowing where to get a pot like that. Chris, I have a build in progress using that style of trimp...

I just find this whole thing totally BIZARRE!! and down right depressing!!! First we the amp building community who take homage in honoring this man's work by replicating or refrencing his design in one form or another in a very positive way...
