I'm not sure about the choke differences, but I also used the Mag Comp twin reverb set. It really came out great.

So I dropped the 47u cap and flipped the 10k and 2k2 resistors in the dropping string, wiring it like the current schematic. Very sweet indeed! I like that mounting trick as well. epoxy or JB weld may in fact be a solution - I'm not particularly smart on what works with what or what melts what, so thanks for the shared experience on silicone too -
