Just thought I'd post this here... the way I have been setting this up. Of course this is just a section of an example.
No preamp board space taken by the components, easy enough to add to just about any layout.
Feel free to critique. Hope it helps.

Nice sounds... I like the tweed head. Do you have any gunshots of this one?

Re: New F&T 100uf 350v caps: Tip Of The Week
Has anyone tried the MOD brand of caps?
I have been using them in everything for a while now. It seems that they are better (less shrill) than F&Ts.
Just wondering how they compare to what you've tested. I'm curious about how they stack up for the price.

You will not need the doubler circuit, or you need a different TX.

Re: Replace Radio Schack 3v transformer with this????
Do you have a schematic of what it is that you are replacing? Hard to tell without more clues.
If it is the standard Dumble relay supply, then yes - with modification to the circuit.
I've included a cropped image of #124 to show the connection. 6.3 v TX doubled with a 12 v regulator.

Re: CF driver Va - Vk voltages in SSS consensus?
I have built a few amps that are gigged and played quite regularly over the past 4-5 years. All of which were built or converted to Martin's bipolar supply. None of them have had any tube failures or any other failures. Loud, punchy and clear as a bell, they all get along lot of attention out in pub...

... looks around for any evidence of something that once existed. This was not possible, since if anything was left at all, it was just a vapor. A vapor that was only noticable if looked for.
Haha. I guess I missed it.

Re: Faceplate Materials
You can get the same result without electrolysis by using sodium persulfate or ferrochloric acid. Put it in a container and wait... Maybe a little bit of stirring/agitation.
Raja_Kentut, not to take anything away from your results. It looks fantastic!

Hey Martin, what is your reasoning for this?martin manning wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 11:25 pm An 8 ohm load on a 4 ohm output is going to be harder on the power tube screens, especially if you play at near full power.

Yes, xtian, kudos for choosing clean response words. It makes you look as intelligent as you truly are. Also, great suggestions from the lot of you. I think you have done well with your responses, getting to the point quickly. You must feel some comfort with your messages hitting the target. The onl...

That is where I take it another step... Spray it with black paint and then block sand it.
