Re: turret Board drilling template?
Here are templates for both Express and Liverpool, with instructions. Liverpool uses same preamp board.

Re: Capacitor Question
Damn Mark, wake up on the wrong side of the bed? I think everybody gets at least one free question thread before being told to use the search function :D. Yeah, and the search function is old skool (90s) search engine schema. Default is "OR" so if you're looking to narrow down your search with mult...

Glen K. (geetarpicker) has done the superglue thing with his (real) '89 Express.Gibsonman63 wrote: Not to hijack your thread, but it is sort of on the same subject. Do any of you guys use super glue or other means to keep your wiring in place?

Re: Tube Testers
The VTV is no longer made? Ouch. I have one and it is quite indespensible.David Root wrote:I have used the MaxiMatcher power tube tester and the VTV Dual Triode Characterizer, as they called it, for years. Sadly the VTV is no longer made. Neither are exactly cheap, but both are reliable.

Re: So I got Merlin's Books....
The Navy basic electronics book is not bad. I use it when i need to look up basic stuff. The edition i have was from the sixties. Naval Electricity and Electronics Training Series (NEETS) 1998 is the best get-you-up-to-speed text I've ever seen. 24 Modules total, with the first 2 basic stuff. If yo...

Some good threads on the coupling cap (and other tweaks):

Re: Express tone stack
It's been a while since I looked at it, but believe the cap between stages 2 and 3 (C8) has a substantial effect on the bass output. It's part of a HPF and Ken's default value really chops the bass.

Re: TW clone handle?
Haven't done it on mine, but if I were to put a handle on, it would be inside the box. Attach a handle-length, rectangular block inside the backside upper lip. Sized just right so the back of your palm is on the top of the cab, with your fingers wrapped around the block.

Re: 1K 25W power supply R?
Have your ever measured the actual dissipation? "Hot" to the touch may not really be that hot to the resistor, plus, either a 5W or 25W will dissipate the same heat, one will just take it easier, if I understand correctly. There have been numerous threads on this one component. The static current i...

Right now it's a VVT X-40. Dumble-ish type Overdrive. Great cleans, overdrive, and loves pedals.
I'm a TW builder kinda guy. Figured I'd never put together my Funk OD kit. So pulled the trigger after some personnel demos. Plus Jim Hill is one helluva guy.
