Re: Timer shut off for Soldering Station
I've got mine on the same branch as an overhead light socket. When I switch off the light, the iron is also off. When I leave the basement, I turn off the lights and I know it isn't a problem waiting to happen. It's what I call a belt and suspenders solution. I figure any one of us is capable of wi...

HH,
Thanks a lot! Can't thank you enough.

SRZ 6545
Anybody has a line on a Dr Z SRZ 6545 schematic?
It's discontinued, and just can't seem to find one on the used market, so heck I'll take a shot.

Re: From a building stand-point, do Two Rock Amps......
I have one of the Custom prototypes and it is unreal in terms of overdrive tone. Built in dumbelator that's never quite out of the loop. NOS tubes probably help. Given that it's a prototype, the build quality is solid, but not neat. Even the goop is, well, goopy. But 4-5k for even a special build? N...

Same here. Got a little portable one from Loews years ago. Straight cuts and none of the nasty dust. Drilling holes is something different; wait for a good day outside.FunkyE9th wrote:I use wet cutting tile saw. Works great!

Re: Anyone one build something with 7591's?
65 Amps makes a 7591-based unit:

Bought one used from Doug (Dougs Tubes). It's pretty cool.
Kinda fendery until PT distortion, and then takes on a marshallish mid range roar.

Re: Best explanation of how a Phase Inverter works
Let me try a swing at things. Might be off base, but heh, lets discuss. lol. Two things: In a triode, voltage signal to grid does not, by itself, result in inverted voltage at the plate. Without a plate resistor, there is no voltage inversion, but there also is no voltage gain. Plate resistor does b...

Re: Stack O Cap Options
If you use the current-original Mallory's for stack of caps and the original chassis, need to be uber careful for clearance.
Do not, repeat do NOT sit them on top of even the tiniest screw head. Had to route out a groove in the head so the chassis would sit flat.
