Re: wiring heaters...ugh

Would someone be willing to educate me on wiring heaters neatly? I've built about a half dozen amps and they've all been rat's nests compared to the refined techniques I've seen here. Heaters have been the bane of my amp building too. Been using the drill technique myself, but finally thrown in the...

Re: Drilling holes for Faceplate

Mikey the TW chassis are all the same size it's just the power section holes that are different for the Express compared to Liverpool/Rocket. Actually need to be careful to avoid a hole-for-hole rocket chassis. It's got one less pot than express/liverpool. Get a Liverpool chassis for drill guide an...

Re: New Trainwreck Clip

Thanks for posting Blinkie. The core to controlling and getting the most out of a Trainwreck beast is to set the volume at 12 to 1 O'clock. With your guit's volume knob full up, yes, it's going to roar like a lion and be loud as all get out. However, start off with your guit's volume at zero and twe...

Re: Recommendation for 1x12 cab

For the Fane Medusa, highly recommend a thiele ported 1x12. I got one from this guy for my Fane Medusa: http://cgi.ebay.com/Thiele-Ported-1x12-guitar-cabinets-EV-TL806-Spec-EVM12L-/280574277411?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415387b723 He's pretty cool to deal with, but he does get back-logged with ...

Re: Tasmanian Blackwood for head cabs...

I hadn't hear of Blackwood either until this guitar: [img:640:480]http://www.bluestoneguitars.com.au/html/Blackwood_bent_sides_singlecut_gallery_files/Media/Mick125/Mick125.jpg[/img] Someone posted this (their) Blackwood guitar on a forum. Lost track of which one. If it was this one, thanks! Not try...

Re: Schematic Heaven

Gack, I'd forgotten about wayback machine. Managed to recover some stompbox schemos when the coummunity's main site went away, using wayback. What was the url for the site that had amp gut shots? Was taken down about 4 years ago? Great site. Edited to add: It was acplink.com. Wayback has the shell, ...

What, you can make it go away? Please say yes, lol.

Yeah, that is a beast. Just put the cab in a different room, point the other way, and run a long amp chord. Rope it off so no unsuspecting household pets get their fur blown off.

Re: Quick Express question

Search feature is kinda funny; need to include "and" between words to get a google-ish search.

For this one, try "25w and resistor and current" to get a readable set of posts.

Re: Liverpool Voltage Chart filled in with expected values

The search function is by default "or", which is the obverse of most search engines (such as google. ) Putting in a string of words will yield any post with any of those words. If you're looking for posts on liverpool voltage chart, need to type in: "liverpool and voltage and chart" (without the quo...

I prefer the Greenlee stepper drill bits; have two cutting edges vice one. They have two that will make about every hole size you need.

Aluminum tapping fluid is a must!

Re: Solid State Express??? What do you all think?

In my personal view there is no need for any speculation, if it "could" be done. As soon as these are available, everyone can decide according to his personal taste, if these amps do what he is looking for in a wreck or not. I personally doubt, that this decision can be made based on clips. My (and...
