Re: what can cause a blown pt?
Find a 1 amp circuit breaker and solder on some clip leads to clip across the fuse socket so you don't keep wasting fuses. rd ooo ooo ooo, very interested! I've counted down my remaining fuses and my money troubleshooting, got a Mouser link for one of these things? Here's the kind I have, wa...

Re: Question about touch responsive amplifier design
The single ended Class A amp is biased such that the zero signal idle current and the maximum output current drawn from the high voltage supply is nearly the same. There's no "sag" when going from low volume to high volume playing. Steve, I acknowledge that the above is the case for regular audio a...

Re: Question on Resistor Wattage
Hi, I have ordered 1 Watt 470 resistor from Mojotone for my screen-grid, and here is the resistor I have received (in blue). It is smaller in size compared to the original (gray). Are those wrong wattage? May I used them safely or re-order correct ones? I really do have trouble finding them online....

I have a picture of him with my brother at a Mustang show.
That was the big show in Charlotte when Bill Clinton showed up with his '67 Mustang.

The single ended Class A amp is biased such that the zero signal idle current and the maximum output current drawn from the high voltage supply is nearly the same. Re: Push-Pull Without a Phase Inverter
Yes the output tubes will run hot, Class A. That's because this type of inverter only works if the first tube amplifies the whole waveform. If the waveform goes into cutoff the second tube looses it's drive. So at or near clipping the whole scheme falls apart. There's some inherent imbalance in the ...

Re: OT transformer question
Looks like 3 and 6 are jumpered. I'd start by disconnecting the leads and seeing what has continuity. This makes me think maybe it's a "universal" output transformer, where different impedances can be selected by jumpering and/or selecting various taps. If so, the primary may also have one or more ...

If you want a nice smelling cab try Cedar.
Of course you don't want to go and hide the aroma by covering it with nitro or worse Tolex.
Problem is getting boards wide enough to fit anything but the smallest chassis.
Someone want to make me a Cedar cab ?
(I don't do woodwork ...)

SAFETY FIRST I guessed an unplugged amp cannot electrocute you  but really, if there will be the need of checking anything while the amp is working, I have less than one error at my disposal. "learn over time" is not an option, LOL. Thanks a lot. This is a very dangerous guess !!! Once a high ...

Re: crosstalk, coupling, bleeding whatever it's called....
Signal is traveling through your chassis. It can be power amp tube grounds from the cathodes, OT secondary to the speaker ground, PI ground or NFB ground (if present). These all need to be grounded to a common point (i.e. "power amp ground point") and not have the signal/power grounds use the chassi...
