Re: A graphene alternative for super-capacitors
Some can handle drinking or getting high, I can't.
Theres not much I do that's in moderation.
I can't stop making something at 'good enough'
I can't get just a little drunk or high.
I can't be friends just a little.
I can't get just a little angry.
I can't 'sorta' be in love.

Re: Field Coil Speakers?
The Reignmaker is already out. I have one over a year now. It does work, but there is significant tone change too.

Re: Subminiature tube amplifier
I've always defined Spud Amp as only 1 tube.

Its done with a router and Leigh jig.
Made the front panel today from some birdseye maple. Still deciding on theme and font for faceplate.

Because dovetails aren't difficult enough.
I still have to do the front and rear panels, and the faceplate.

Re: Field Coil Speakers?
It also looks like most alnico speakers could be fairly easily converted to field coil by replacing the magnet with a bobbin of wire.
Gauge would be the experiment.

Re: so I fell for the snake oil
I had a couple dozen Amperex 6922(pinch waist) cryoed. I tested them before and after. They all tested 2-3% higher after. Cryo causes compression past elastic deformation and results in change to grain and crystal structure. This is easily proven with cutting tools. Not every change is an improvemen...

Re: Walnut 4x12 Slant Cabinet
This is going to be a demo cab that will live on stage in my friends club. It will get moved very little.
Not sure what speakers I'll use. I'll try some greenbacks that I already have to get a base line, then go from there.

Re: Guitar Gallery Thread! Post 'em up!
I attended a Toys For Tots event this weekend. By the soda/snack table they had a raffle. $3 tickets, 50/50, and an electric guitar. I purchased a ticket, and during the intermission they first drew the 50/50. Diget by diget they called out my ticket for the guitar. Oh, did I mention that its a pink...

Re: Walnut 4x12 Slant Cabinet
You aren't wrong in wanting to keep as much of the Rat Tail as possible, but I am not sure what effect if any running the grain at such a slant will have on doing the finger joints. After looking at my outline though, I do think I will at least flip the slanted portion to the other side. I think I'm...
