Well as I expected the quote from Hammond is:
17 x 8 x 2 0.064 ga $75.59 each
17 x 8 cover 0.064 ga $13.42 each
Minimum 25 each so they are very high priced and I am not a dealer nor want to be so I think I will scratch this idea and make or pickup a brake to try bend up my own chassis.

Re: Great Strat tone but way overdriven LP tone....Express poll
This has been a great post so keep it going. My Les Paul has stock pickups which I think are fairly hot. My express is loud and aggressive at 2 and going to 10-12 area really gets sounding sweet with sustain, overtones and harmonics. However, it is LOUD. Did I say that already. I have not tried diff...

Re: dumble book
I saw an add in the January 2009 Vintage Guitar for a new Dumble book and a website to go to but didn't go there to see what it would cost.

Re: Hammond TW style chassis
Waiting for a reply from Hammond on a thicker aluminun 17 x 8 x 2 chassis rather than the 0.050 they currently offer in there chassis. I may have pissed the sales guy off since I said I need them not so flimsy since we use heavy transformers in our amp builds. No response, hmm!

Re: Champ for Bass? - yes you read that right.
I was just looking through my old Fender catolog and spied this small bass amp that you might like to take a look at Musicmaster Bass, 12 watts RMS with 12 inch speaker.

Re: Valve Jr with Tremolo
The Broncho amp was a beginner amp listed in Fender's 1972 catalog I have. I have never seen one or I would own it. It has 6 watts RMS, 8inch speaker, 3 tubes and seems to be about the same as the Virbro Champ listed in the same catalog and then there was also the Champ listed. I have had and blew u...

Re: Valve Jr with Tremolo
OK your schematic an the others definitely show a 3M RA (reverse audio taper) pot for the speed and either a 250KL for intensity on the Tremolux and 25K RA on the Broncho and Vibro Champ and you noted a 50K RA.
Are you using RA pots reverse taper or just plain audio pots?

ChristM
Are you still having troubles with this amp? I thought that the pot for this circuit used a reversed taper and that could be the problem.

Re: DC heaters
DC filament is used in some class A amps to quiet them down since they are noiser than your pushpull Class A/B amps.

Vintage Guitar mag January 2009 has brads amp shots and he has had new hardwood cabinets built for his Zwreck amps to go with his TW amp. They were in red tolex before.
